I took Roxy to the Vet today. She has a sore on one of her teats. She is going to have surgery a week from tomorrow. In the meantime, I have to give her a round of antibiotics and something to reduce inflammation. She also has a fatty tumor and they are going to take that off too.

Since she is an “older” girl, they are going to do a blood work up before surgery. The Vet doesn’t think it is breast cancer although that is a possibility.

Roxy did well getting in and out of the car and at the office. She really didn’t want to wait for me to check-out and pay. She was ready to leave right NOW.

Getting her to take pills is a problem. It took four tries for one of her pills today. I finally wrapped it in a bite of bread and tricked her into taking it. I will have to go get some hot dogs as those usually work.

Haven’t done much else today. Still waiting to hear from the Center about their decision about the Go Bags. I need to enjoy this quiet time as if I get the green light on the Go Bags things are going to get busy for me.

Tomorrow is an empty space day. Friday I go to Topeka and then deliver the donuts to the Center. No plans for the holiday weekend. Next Tuesday I have a dental cleaning at the Vo-Tech, Thursday is Roxy’s surgery and Friday I take Kathy to the Memory Clinic in KC. Best enjoy the quiet weekend as it is going to be a busy week.

Got one of the items I ordered for the gift bags for the Detention Center staff today. Still waiting on two more things to come in. I found some appreciation notes I ordered that should be in early next week. I can start getting those written out as soon as they get here. It will be good to get this project completed and my dining room table cheered off again.

Looking at some grants that I might apply for if I get the green light to proceed. Most of them require more goal setting and details that I have never crystallized for Love in Action before. I did some chatting on ChapGPT today and found it helpful in putting those words together. I will go back to it if I need to write a grant.

This heat is holding on. I feel back for the students that are doing fall sports. Practice must be brutal.

Grateful Roxy is going to be taken care of, grateful for an empty space day tomorrow, and grateful for a quiet evening at home.
