This has been a quiet day at home. I did go to the Dollar General to get some hot dogs so I can get Roxy to take her pills. They worked like a charm for her first pills today. We shall see if they continue to work.

I haven’t done much today. I am giving the Go Bag project some energy and thought. I think I will break what we need up and if churches, social groups, etc want to do a collection drive, they can pick one or two items and focus on those. A church could do a sock drive for example. I think that would simplify it and spread out what we collect in a way that won’t cause lots of one thing and nothing of another.

I am writing a letter to the Staff at the Center and requesting a face-to-face meeting with the top officials so we can figure this all out. They still may say no but I want them to do that to my face. They still may say yes too. I would like to get some time before we commit to having the first bags delivered. I will need at least 30 days to get everything set up and find a space for storage and to assemble the bags. It will take some time to find churches and social groups to help too. People from Love in Action are scattered throughout the state of Kansas and beyond. I may be taking more road trips to pick things up!

Tomorrow I have to be in Topeka late morning for a doctor’s appointment. I will stop and have lunch afterwards and then come back to Emporia, stop and pick up the donuts and deliver them to the Center. One more special event will be crossed off the list!

No plans for the holiday weekend. Have things scheduled for three different days next week so it will feel a bit busy for me. I do need to go buy groceries at some point this weekend. I will see when the mood hits to make another trip to town.

It has been a quiet week for me with little interaction with others. My soul needed this time-out. I haven’t done much and had little energy. I have not read much news as I needed to step away for a bit. Feeling a bit isolated but I needed that to let my mind get quiet again. My heart had felt heavy from all the chaos in the world and it was weighing me down. I am no good to any one, including myself, if I allow myself to get below neutral and stay there.

Grateful for hot dogs that make the medicine go down, grateful for quiet time at home, and grateful I finally feel like I have climbed above neutral again.
