This has been a mostly, stay-at-home day. I did run to the post office and the bank but that didn’t take long. I did get dressed to run the errand though. If the post office had been drive-thru I probably wouldn’t have bothered dressing. TMI!

Found out the lady at the post office is being an angel and doing an act of kindness for some of the Detainees. I am finding angels everywhere I go these days. I think those are God winks or some people call them glimmers. I bet more people than not are finding quiet ways to share kindness these days.

Got two deliveries from UPS and FedEx today. Christmas in August is happening at my house! Most of the supplies to build the Go Bags are here. I need to unwrap everything and get the clothing washed up. I think I found a tote to store everything in. I will put together two backpacks except for the clothing and when I have a transport all I will have to do is grab the proper size clothing and throw in some snacks and water bottles and off I can go. I can’t wait to use the first one and see what the reaction is.

I ordered a few things so I can put together some appreciation bags for the staff at the Detention Center. Some of the things I ordered won’t be in for a bit so I won’t be able to gift them until mid September or so. I will schedule a workday and see if I can get some volunteers to come help me put them together. I think it is important to thank the people that make Love in Action happen within the Center. Without their work and help, this program wouldn’t happen.

I woke up at 4:00 this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep. Finally got up and then went back to bed around 9:00. I got four texts within 60 minutes that woke me up each time. I gave up napping after a bit. Maybe I can go to bed tonight and sleep all night.

Tomorrow I need to go to Emporia and pick up some prescriptions that are ready. My doctor’s office changed how you request refills. Not sure I like the new way but guess they didn’t ask my opinion. It took several days to get the refills. Good thing I try to stay two weeks ahead of what I need.

I sent a note to my website designer about some changes that need to happen with the website. When I had him change to the July month end report instead of the June report I forgot to tell him to change out the Updates at a Glance box. I need to remember to tell him what to say in that each month when he adds the new month’s end report. I also asked him to create some links to the Facebook page for the stories of the transports I do. Maybe I need to add the full stories on the website too. I will continue to play with the site and see what fits. I have a tendency to add too much and then I am not sure people read it all.

The place where I am getting the pizza for Friday called. They wanted to divide it into two different days and orders like we did last time. I had them talk to the person that has to handle all that within the Center and let them sort it out. I don’t think it was going to work for the Center for them to divide the order. I had asked them when I ordered it if they could do it all on the same day and they said yes. They must have had second thoughts. I don’t know how they keep them all hot if we pick up 50 pizzas at once. Figured they had some tricks they could use. I’m sure they don’t deal with that big of an order very often.

It seems like most things I attempt to do has consequences that cause problems for someone that I did not anticipate. Grateful most of the time we can work through them and make things work. I think it is good that I don’t always know what the consequences are going to be for all involved or I might not have the courage to do what I do.

I have greatly enjoyed a quiet day at home. I got some little things taken care of and my desk cleaned off. Not sure I discovered what I felt like I was behind on but that feeling is gone tonight. I feel more grounded than I have for a bit. My soul needs lots of quiet space to reset and ground. Grateful I have most of this week to continue to reset.

Grateful for all the gift registry things that came in today, grateful to discover an unexpected kindness someone is doing for the Detainees, and grateful for my website designer.
