This has been another quiet day. I did go to Emporia this afternoon to pick up the things I couldn’t make myself get yesterday..
I spent some time this morning sorting the clothes for the released detainees. I need some 2 gallon zip lock bags to put each set in so they stay organized. I ordered some and they will be here Tuesday. I figured out what I still needed and updated the gift registry. I had missed a couple of things when I created it the first time.
I got a tote today to store everything in. The backpacks I ordered are perfect and everything fits with room to spare. I picked up a box of Tampons today and will add a couple to each of the women’s toiletry bags.
Got a request from a detainee for garlic sauce with the pizza for tomorrow. Two problems – cost and availability. Each packet costs $0.69 each and I would need 200 of them which is $150 with tax. The place I am ordering the pizza from, doesn’t have 200 on hand. I will consider adding it for next time but not sure the value is there for the cost. Dang, this gets complicated sometimes.
Have washed and dried the sheets from my bed but haven’t gotten it made yet. Best get that done so I don’t forget and go to bed without getting it done. I have done that before and it is frustrating.
Had a great conversation with Nicole today. We went deep today which we do occasionally. Love those types of conversations. She is ordering foreign money for our trip in November for us. I could probably figure out how to do that but it is easier to let her do it. We are going to six different countries and I think need four different currencies. Wonder how I will keep all that straight? Good thing I have Nicole with me.
Nicole said the Danube River is running very low right now and most of the cruises are having to bus it for part or even most of the cruise. We shall see what happens for us. I dislike long bus rides but will do what we have to do to get from Point A to Point B. Maybe they will get their fall rains and the river will be up when we go in November.
No plans for tomorrow except to go pay for the pizza. They are having a buy one get 50% on the second one. That will save me 25% on the cost which is a nice bonus. 50 pizzas get expensive!
No plans for the weekend. Monday I have to go to Wichita for a follow up visit with the office that did my colonoscopy. Trusting they will have some answers for me and a solution to my tummy issues. Since I will be in Wichita I will get to have lunch at Chipotle and then stop at Costco and pick up a few things.
Sitting in a quiet mind space today. One of those days where I can’t hold on to a thought very long. I feel more like an observer of my life than a participant.
Grateful for the phone call with Nicole today, grateful the Go Bag project is almost organized, and grateful for this slow, quiet time in my life.
