This day didn’t go as planned but it turned out great. Michelle and Ellexia were going to come out and help Kathy and I eat the pan of lasagna I had purchased from a neighbor. She had made the lasagna as a fundraiser for a golf thing. I took it out of the freezer yesterday so it could thaw so I could bake it today.

Nicole and Geoff called around 9:30. They had been in Winfield at the Bluegrass Festival and were on their way home. They wanted to know if I wanted to join them for lunch on their way through Emporia.

Kathy, Michelle, Ellexia and I met them at Radius and had lunch together. I love when I get to see a couple of my family together. We had a delightful lunch. I stopped on the way home and filled the car with gas and then we came home.

I baked the lasagna this afternoon. I put out a text to my gang of friends and offered them some of it. Two of them took me up on the offer. One came by and picked hers up this afternoon and the other is coming tomorrow afternoon. We have enough lasagna left for another meal for Kathy and I. It was too good to have lots of leftovers that we couldn’t eat so I shared.

I also baked a pumpkin pie cake this afternoon. The cool and rain we had this morning made me think of fall and pumpkin. Pumpkin spice is one of Kathy’s favorite things and she has had a hard week and deserved a special treat. Those that got some lasagna also got some of that as Kathy and I can’t (or rather shouldn’t) eat a whole pan of pumpkin pie cake.

Haven’t done much else today. I am tired tonight as I did manage to find some sleep last night. The sharp lightening and loud thunder woke me up this morning. Am grateful for the rain we got. There is a chance we will get more rain this week.

Am sitting with the Go Bag project and trying to come up with a master plan. Pieces of it are falling into place. Tuesday or Wednesday I hope to sit down and map out the plan. I am trying to time when I want things to come in and when we might be able to start packing bags. We will be running into the holidays shortly after I get home from my trip so wondering if I want to get it done before then. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Good thing is I don’t think there is a wrong decision – just different choices with different consequences.

Tomorrow I have to be in Topeka for a 12:30 doctor’s appointment. I will have lunch in Topeka. It will depend on what time I wake up and get going whether I eat before my appointment or after. Not sure how long the appointment will last but betting about an hour.

I need to stop and get a few groceries on my way back through Emporia. I was going to stop today but couldn’t make myself. With gas as expensive as it is getting, I really need to make myself do it tomorrow and save myself a trip to town later this week.

The rest of the week is empty space. I feel like I really could use that. I have lots of planning to do for the Go Bag project and need quiet space to do that in. Hoping to get the website updated some time soon also. I need to write out what changes I need made so the designer has those when he is ready for them.

A young man that graduated from high school in Chase County stepped forward last night and volunteered to do the website changes for me. He is the CEO of a nonprofit in Washington, DC and understands the world of nonprofits and technology. I am ever so grateful for him.

Two of his friends are friends of mine so I sent the two friends a quick note last night to check him out. Both gave him glowing reviews. I needed to send the password to my website to him and wanted to make sure he was who he said he was before I did that. Intuitively I knew I could trust him but needed to do my due diligence.

Still sitting with a family drama situation. It took another turn today. Not sure how things are going to get resolved. There is a person I can reach out to that might be helpful. It has gotten too big for me to handle alone. Dang, this stuff can be hard.

I have sensed another big energy shift in the world. Chaos seems to be building but also peace. Hard to find words to explain what I am feeling. I got the strong reminder to ground, stay true to who I am, stay focused on my inner work, and all will be well. I haven’t read much of the news this week as I felt like I had enough chaos swirling around me without adding that to it. All is well and all will be well. May it be so. Amen and Amen.

Grateful for time with Nicole, Michelle, Ellexia, Geoff and Kathy today, grateful for friends that helped me by taking some leftovers, and grateful all is well and will be well.
