Happy birthday to my oldest daughter Michelle. How has it been 46 years since you were born? Time goes by so fast. I love how you embrace life and stay true to who you are. So proud of you and so grateful you made me a grandmother of two.

Went to Topeka for a doctor’s appointment today. I got to Topeka early enough that I could have lunch before my appointment. Of course I went to Chipotle. It cost more than normal so I checked the receipt and they had charged me for cheese that I didn’t get. I pointed it out to them and they refunded it.

Went to my appointment which took 1 1/2 hours. Hadn’t planned on being there that long. Finally got done and headed home. I stopped at Walmart to get some groceries but there was no parking except by the gas station. It was 100 degrees today and I was getting cranky and decided I didn’t want to walk that far in the heat and deal with that many people inside. For the safety of others and myself, I came home instead. I will have to go to town soon and get some groceries as the bare essentials are running out.

When I got home I discovered Kathy was having trouble with the vacuum. Not sure why it isn’t working properly. It it already broken so if I tear it apart to see what is wrong I can’t break it more. When I am not so cranky I will attempt to see if I can find out what is wrong. If not, I will go to Costco later this week and get a new one. This one is only a little over two years old. Man, they don’t make things like they used to.

I finally have some breathing space as I don’t have anything on my calendar for the next ten days or so. I really need to get myself organized for the Go Bag project and this will give me the time and space to do so. I need lots of quiet space to make some decisions about the program and figure out a timeline. It will be easy once I sort through all the pros and cons in my head and then decide on a path forward. The good news is no matter what I decide it won’t be a wrong path. I am usually good at adjusting the path as needed once I set out. It is when I don’t make a choice and set out that I can run into problems.

Kathy and I have decided to start going to the gym again. I need an accountability partner and if I go so Kathy can go I think I will go more often. Kathy needs someone to help her with her routine there as she will forget it easily. Maybe together we can do a hard thing and get our asses to the gym three times a week.

I just looked at the early Emmy Red Carpet looks. I am out of touch as I don’t recognize most of the names of the people they are showing. I think I need to get out more – then again, maybe not. There are some people that are paid way too much in comparison to the valve they offer society and I consider actors in that group. Sports players are another group that is way over paid for the value they bring society.

Man it feels good to not have anything on my calendar but empty space for the next ten days. I’m sure some days will fill up with things but it feels like it has been a hot minute since I saw nothing but empty space on my calendar. My soul needs someone breathing space and I look forward to it.

Grateful for a safe trip to and from Topeka today, grateful for another chance to eat at Chipotle, and grateful for the empty space ahead.
