This has been a quiet, stay-at-home type of day. I woke up at 3:00 this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep. Finally got up at 6:00 and went back to bed at 8:00. Slept two more hours. Sleep and I are not good friends right now. I wonder who but who in time-out?

I pulled my big girls panties up and released the website for Love in Action. I still can’t pull it up consistently. So far most can open it however I have had two that cannot. What is going on? I am ignorant on things like this. Part of me just wants to give it a bit more time? Maybe there is a button somewhere that needs fixed? I will wait till I have a free day next week and if it is still doing this I will call for help.

I added PayPal as a donation method a bit ago and when I was checking trash today found notices from people that had donated to PayPal. I would attempt to move the notice to my in box and it would bounce back to trash. Finally discovered that somewhere a long time ago I had blocked PayPal. Took me a bit to figure out how to unblock it.

Worked on the Pen Pal program a bit today. Have a new request and it took me two tries to get a volunteer. The first one had very understandable reasons not to take the new request. Luckily, another Pen Pal had been moved out of the Center so that volunteer was available. She does a great job of being mindful and not disclosing her personal information. That was very needed in this case.

It has been a technology type of day. Some success and some frustrations. Sure wish I knew more than I do but I am not motivated to go to school to learn. That is what experts are for – right? Trusting it will all get sorted out sooner or later – it always does.

Have felt almost “normal” today. I ate brunch around 12:30 and haven’t needed to eat anymore since. Only had two eggs and a piece of toast but am very full right now. That is one of the problems the doctor is trying to figure out why that happens. Sure hope they have some answers for me when I go on the 24th for my follow-up appointment. The good news of the day is I haven’t had to run to the bathroom today. Grateful to have at least a day off from that. Kathy took my place today and has had to run a couple of times. That is unusual for her. I told her thanks for joining me!

No plans for tomorrow. I have three busy days after that so will enjoy another stay-at-home resting type of day. I do have some housecleaning that needs done but there is always that to do. Tomorrow is laundry day so will attempt to get that done.

I reached out to someone I know today to see if she will have a conversation with me about vaccines. We are on opposite sides of the fence on this one. I told her I wasn’t going to attempt to change her mind and didn’t want her to attempt to change my mind. I just want to open my mind to other possibilities and to understand the whys behind her choice. She graciously agreed to have a discussion which we will have soon.

I strongly feel we have to start finding ways to talk to both sides and find out why people are making the choices they are. Not to change their minds, but to open mine. We have way more in common than our differences and we all need reminded of that. Maybe each side can learn something from the other and respect can come back into the equation.

I have been guilty of turning away from people that have different views than I have and I need to stop doing that. It can be a challenge to find someone willing to have conversation but I think they are out there. I am on a mission to find them and start opening some doors.

When I reached out to a guy that has a different view than mine about immigration we built a fragile bridge between us. That one was a bit easier because I doubt if I ever hear from him again. However, it gave me hope that if we can listen without judgement and allow the conversations, maybe the temperature of the debate can be dialed down a bit.

Grateful the website has launched, grateful there are experts that can help fix it if needed, and grateful for people that are willing to have a conversation with someone they have a different opinion about things.
