I still have my pajamas on if that tells what I did today. Absolutely nothing! I got three different sleeps last night and was up for about two hours in between sleeps. Sure makes for a long night when that happens.
The third sleep was the longest and it was between 7:00 this morning and 11:00. The day goes by quickly when you get up that late. I was up from 4:00 – 7:00.
Got a note from the Sergeant that does the card program for Love in Action. She is running low on some supplies. I have lots of stamps on hand but she needed some other things. I added some things to the Amazon Gift Registry and within two hours they were all taken care of. I continue to be amazed at the generosity of the donors to Love in Action.
I also had a discussion with her about what we might do for the holidays. I appreciate her thinking of this in advance as I need to put together a budget and see how much money I need to raise. I suggested possibly doing a piece of fresh fruit – an apple, an orange or a banana. I don’t think they ever get a whole piece of fresh fruit. I also asked about us catering a Mexican meal for all. I will see if either of those get approved. We are so limited as to what we can do. All I can do is ask and I get told no often.
Our piece of exercise equipment should be in soon. They said 10 – 12 weeks and it has been 10 weeks. I will be glad when I get our half paid so I know for sure how much I have to pay and it is reflected in how much cash we have on hand. Between the $5,000 – $6,000 for the exercise equipment and the $800 – $1,000 for the pizza it looks like we have a lot more cash available than we really do.
I really appreciated all the stamps that were sent in as part of the stamp drive so I didn’t have to spend several hundred dollars to buy more stamps.
Tomorrow I am going to KC. I will go to Nicole’s house and drop off the meat and then I am going to a funeral in Olathe. I was looking at my calendar earlier and realized that over the last six weeks I have made a trip each week to either Topeka, Wichita or KC every week and for two weeks I made two trips in one week. That is a bit unusual for me. I go to Wichita on the 24th and then the next week I go to Topeka for a Doctor’s appointment and the week after that I go back to Topeka for a different doctor’s appointment. Geez, no wonder it feels like I haven’t had lots of empty space lately. Hpefully I am coming to the end of all of these out-of-town runs.
It will be fun to see Nicole and Geoff for a short bit tomorrow. I have a haircut on Monday and then my calendar is empty for the rest of the week. Wonder if it will stay that way? The last couple of weeks have been full of empty space that somehow got taken up.
It was nice to take a quiet day today and not even attempt to get anything done. I look around and see all sorts of things that need taken care of but today I said not today. I will get to them sooner or later. The dusting and cleaning can wait for another day.
Grateful for a quiet day at home, grateful another wish list has been fulfilled quickly, and grateful I got a third sleep this morning.
