I met the Captain of the Detention Center at The Grand for lunch today. We got a chance to visit and he shared his Yellowstone vacation with me. That is one place in the US that is still on my bucket list.

I found out who his replacement is going to be but I don’t know if it has been announced or not so I won’t say who it is. I was pleased with their selection.

The Captain will be around until mid September but I wanted to catch him before. Time gets away from me and I didn’t want to miss the chance to thank him for all he has done to make Love in Action possible. Without his help and grace, we would not exist.

I came home and did a few things at home and then I drove to Emporia and picked up a grocery order. I had ordered on-line a couple weeks ago and had remembered how much easier it is. I did have to wait about 15 minutes for them to bring the order to me today but it still was much easier than going in the store.

Came home and put things away. I had forgotten I have Nicole’s beef in my freezer and my freezer is full. I had ordered some frozen stuff so I had to get creative to find places for it all but I did it.

No plans for tomorrow. Sunday I am taking Nicole’s beef to her and then I am going to a memorial service for the daughter of a good friend. Another friend is also going so I will get to see her there too as a bonus.

Monday I have my last haircut with my hairdresser. The rest of the week is empty space. I am ready for that!

Got the results of my colonoscopy back and all is well. They didn’t find anything of any significance. I do have one small internal hemorrhoid which probably explains the bleeding I had back in February. I am still hoping they can identify why I have tummy issues so often and come up with a solution. Guess it is good to rule out the bad stuff and go from there. I go August 24 to meet with them and find out what they have to say.

It is fun to see all the back-to-school pictures of kids from my friends across the country. Man, these kids grow up fast. I tend to lock them in my head as the age they were the last time I saw them. It has been awhile in some cases.. I was always excited as a parent when school started back up.

Still feeling a bit ungrounded today but better than I was yesterday. I watched a video a man I respect and listen to made and I think it rocked me a bit. I don’t do well when I anticipate what might happen to our country in the future. We have dug a huge hole for ourselves and the solution is out of my understanding. I have to keep coming back to right here, right now, all is well and believe that a miracle will happen and the ship will right itself. I attempt to stay focused on my little project and let the rest go. I can’t change it and I do more good staying above neutral and doing what I can do.

Grateful the cupboards are restocked, grateful for the Captain and all he has done to allow Love in Action do what it does, and grateful for the replacement that will be promoted soon.
