I met Jason and Michelle at 627 for lunch today. Always a treat to spend time with my kids and I got two out of three today.
My tummy started acting up when I was done eating and I was off to the race to the bathroom for a bit. Dang, I hate when I am away from home and it does that.
I had planned on picking up a few things at Walmart when I stopped to get my prescription but all I ended up with was the prescription. The pharmacy is close to the bathroom and I didn’t trust that if I walked to where the things were I wanted I could get back to a bathroom fast enough. I was lucky to get home without stopping.
Took a nap when I got home. Am feeling a bit more settled now but am drained! I was lucky I had some of my medication with me and took it right away. It finally kicked in and things have stopped. Now to drink a boat load of fluids as I feel a bit dehydrated.
I’ll have to go back to town another day to get the groceries I needed. Oh well, I’m sure in another day or two I will think of other things I need too.
Haven’t done much else today. No energy at all this afternoon.
I’m sure that was all TMI. Sorry about that. I use this blog as my diary and it helps to have record of how often this happens so I can report accurately to my gastrointestinal doctor.
No plans for tomorrow or Wednesday. I do have some things for Love in Action I can work on – that is always the case! I need to start exploring grants and writing some letters to places that might be willing to help us with our Go Bags.
Things are starting to arrive that others have ordered off of Amazon. It is going to take a bit at some point to get all the packages opened and everything sorted. Right now I am stacking them in boxes still in the tight packaging so it stores as small as possible. I am struggling a bit to match what comes in with what was ordered so I can be sure we get everything. Some of the packages have gift tags so I know who sent them but some do not. Some of orders come all together and some are split into different shipments and arrival days. I will get a system down sooner or later.
Kathy handles our recycling and she is going to stay busy taking boxes and packing to the recycling place.
I think I am going to Costco to get a bulk tote holding rack and totes that fit. I have space for 12 totes and the rack in my dining room. That will give me space for most of the things. I plan on doing 100 at a time. When I get the big shipment from the bulk place I will have a better understanding of the space that this will take up. I do have offers of some places I can store things and I may have to use those spaces too.
It will take some volunteers a day to get everything opened and sorted and then washed up before we can stuff the backpacks. I will get a day on the books and see if anyone signs up to help. My house is small so can’t use lots of people at one time but it would give others a chance to participate in a “hands on” event. I will schedule another day to stuff the packs.
Nice to have a couple quiet days this week. I thought I was going to have some last week and then ended up doing the transport on two different days. I never know when my empty space days will get filled with unexpected things to take care of. Grateful I have empty space days and can be available for emergency needs.
Got 60 more stamps today for the Detainees. It is such a budget saver to have people donate stamps. I haven’t had to buy stamps since July. That saves several hundred dollars on my budget a month to not have to buy stamps.
I have been sending lots of thank you notes lately so may need to buy myself some stamps. I use my personal stamps to send thank you notes as I want every dollar and stamp that comes in to go to the detainees. Buying stamps for thank you notes is the least I can do for the program.
Sitting in what feels an in-between space today. Not sure what I am in between but there is a restlessness that I am feeling that isn’t allowing me to be in my peaceful valley. Something big feels like it is coming in and I have no idea what it is. The world chaos feels like it is getting ready for another plot twist of sorts. Maybe that is what I am feeling. I never am quite sure and I do my best to stay out of worry and fear and instead spend the time grounding myself and reminding myself all I can control is my response to whatever might happen.
Grateful for the donation of stamps, grateful for time with Jason and Michelle, and grateful things have slowed down a bit.
