Not much sleep last night. One of those nights where if I could fall asleep, I wouldn’t stay asleep long or if I did I had to wake up to change the dream channel. I don’t usually dream much but they were very strong last night.

I picked up Ellexia in Emporia at 10:00 this morning. She had a friend with her so we took her friend home. We stopped and got an iced tea and then dropped off her friend. Headed for Wichita after that.

First stop was my new gastro doctor. I dropped off my stool specimen. I checked with the front desk to make sure they had gotten the fax from my cardiologist giving them his clearance for my procedure. They had and she told me scheduling would be calling me.

We then went to Chipotle and had lunch. Second day in a row for me. Must be my lucky week.

After we ate we went to Towne East Mall and shopped until we dropped. I found a suitcase that I think I will like at the first store we went to. I didn’t buy it until we were on our way back to the car so I didn’t have to drag it all over.

Ellexia knew exactly which stores she wanted to go to and where they were. I gave her a budget and off we went. She bought things in three different stores and stayed below budget! She went to five different stores and didn’t find anything else she wanted. We stopped and bought the suitcase and then headed home.

I had tummy issues today and had to keep finding a bathroom today. I hate days like this when I am out and about and the only thing I can think of is where is the closest bathroom.

While I was in a bathroom the doctor’s office called to get me on his schedule for my first procedure. He can do it this Friday at 1:00. I was shocked. I really thought it would be August and maybe even September before he could do it. I didn’t have good reception on my phone so didn’t get good instructions. They are to mail them to me. If I don’t have them by Thursday, I will call and find out if there is anything I need to do. I looked up the procedure and what is recommended as prep. Other than fasting the day of, I think I should be good to go.

I will try to find out what portal his office uses as they can send me instructions that way too. Sometimes I get lucky and can figure those things out and other times not so much.

We stopped for one last potty stop at Matfield Green and I filled the car up with gas. It was 100 degrees outside when we stopped.

I got home a little after 3:00 I picked up my mail and found someone had mailed me 43 stamps for Love in Action. It feels like Christmas around here with all the donations and stamps that are coming in.

Roy Wentz sent me a PM with a link to the story he wrote about the Detainees and the impact all the deportations are having on local Kansans. The story is published in the KLCjournal.com on-line magazine. Love in Action is mentioned several times in the article. I wish I could change a few things about what he said but over all it is a great article.

He used several quotes from the Love in Action Facebook page and provided a link to that page in the article. It will be interesting to see if we get some new members and/or donors as a result.

No plans for the next two days. I’m grateful I changed my trip with Ellexia to today. She found out she is leaving on vacation Thursday morning and couldn’t have gone that day. With another trip to Wichita for me on Friday, I’m grateful I will have two rest days before that.

The Doctor may be doing a biopsy on the stone or tumor that is blocking my pancreas duct. I read about the down time afterwards and it doesn’t sound like it is bad. I will probably need to take it easy for a day or two but I had no plans for the weekend and even all of next week so have lots of empty space to heal in.

Not sure when I might get the results of the stool sample. Maybe he will talk to me Friday about them. I sure hope all of this leads to some answers and changes I can make to solve my tummy issues. It is becoming a quality of life issue and not a fun one! There is more to life than knowing where the closest bathroom is.

Kathy has a doctor’s appointment tomorrow. I don’t think she wants me to go with her but she may change her mind. She has been making a list of things to address with the doctor. I trust he will listen to her and help her find some solutions to her issues. Not sure why it seems to be hard to get to the root of medical problems these days. It feels more like they treat symptoms and not the real cause.

This has been a good day. I love spending time with Ellexia. She was fun and easy to be with today. I was impressed she didn’t buy something she really didn’t want just to spend all her budget. I was a bit gobsmacked that the doctor can do the procedure this week. I am cautiously optimistic that a solution can be found to some of my tummy issues.

Grateful for the time I got with Ellexia today, grateful the doctor can do the procedure this week and grateful for reporters that ask good questions and write independent stories about what is happening in this world.
