Broke down and turned the A/C back on last night. It warmed up to the mid 80’s today so grateful the house has been cool this afternoon. Wonder when summer will let go?
Went to Emporia late morning to get a blood draw. My TSH is low at .5. That is the bottom of the range I am to be in. For the first time my T4 was high. I sent a note to my endocrinologist and she is going to have me lower my Tirosint and do 112 daily instead of alternating it with the 125 dose. I appreciate that she gets back to me quickly.
I only have a one month supply of the 112 on hand so ordered three more boxes. I want to make sure I have it for my trip. I ordered it from a lab in Alabama which is where they make it. It is much cheaper that way. They don’t accept insurance so the cost doesn’t go against my deductible. It is $154 for three boxes which will last three months. The local pharmacy was charging me $80 for one box three years ago. Wonder what they would charge now?
Kathy called in a prescription to be filled earlier this week. When I was there yesterday picking up another one for her they told me they had just received it but it wasn’t ready. As I was driving home today I got a text that her script is ready now. We have to go to Emporia tomorrow to take the dogs to the Vet. One of us will run in and get it while we are in town.
I had only ordered 25 women’s toiletry kits and needed 30 so I ordered another case of them. They came in today. The two cases of backpacks that I discovered on sale for half price didn’t arrive yet. I don’t understand how shipments get separated but I am guessing they will show up tomorrow.
I had ordered some rolls of colored duct tape that we will put strips of on the backpacks to make it easier for the staff at the Center to find in their locker. They came in today along with some scissors that I ordered. We will have several people cutting off tags and I wanted to make sure we had plenty of scissors. For some reason my supply was getting low.
The sweat pants are to arrive Monday. I think I am going to have to wash them up myself as we don’t have enough laundry days to get it all done. I may save some to use when we wash socks just to balance out the loads. I read where you aren’t supposed to wash just socks and underwear in one load by themselves. I will have a bit of time after the laundry days to get the sweats washed up but it will be cutting it close. How many pair of sweats can be washed in one load? The things I am learning.
I held back five loads of blankets that need washed so we wouldn’t run out of things to wash on the laundry days. Guess I can go ahead and get those washed up too. I hadn’t found the sweats pants when I made that decision. My master plan keeps changing as facts change.
I might try to add a laundry day to next week to get a start on the sweat pants. I will see if they are individually wrapped or have tags on them. If not, I might add a day and get most of them washed up. The laundry mat in Cottonwood only has four regular sized washers and two double sized ones. I’m thinking maybe five or six pairs of sweats pants per load? That is 40 per wash day.
I still need to go to the laundry mat and find out how you pay to wash a load of laundry. Do they still use quarters – lots and lots of quarters? Good thing the bank is close in case I will need more!
Got some thank you notes written and in the mail today. Have a couple email thank you notes to send and then I will be caught up again. I have written more thank you notes this year than I have ever before. I guess they are a bit old fashioned but if people are going to be generous enough to send funds for Love in Action, they deserve a handwritten thank you note. It bugs me when I send a donation and never hear back or get a form letter of some sort.
I need to find someone to audit my books. Most of the grant applications I have looked at require a copy of the most recent financial audit. Anyone know someone? My records are rather elementary. I’m not sure if I start before we became a 501(c)3 or after. We didn’t have our own back account until after.
Anyone else feeling the weird energy? Man, it is disruptive to me. Kathy and I have both noticed it. Things are getting ready to boil over I have a feeling. The next 90 days are going to get very interesting. I keep reminding myself to stay grounded and keep my focus on love and not worry about the stuff I have absolutely no control over.
Grateful my endocrinologist is easy to reach and responsive to my messages, grateful I listened to my intuition and had my TSH checked, and grateful I can be flexible and change my plans to get things done for the Go Bags.
