Well this has been a day! I am on clear liquids and in the middle of my prep for my colonoscopy. I thought I was starting to get into trouble and I had only taken the first step in the prep which is two laxatives by pill.
I called the doctor’s office to get some guidance on how to proceed. The website said they were there until 5:00. I called at 4:00 and asked for the nurse. She answered but said she had no clue about the prep process and transferred me to scheduling. Weird but OK. Unfortunately I had to leave a message. When I hadn’t heard back at 4:40 I called back and found out the office closes at 4:30 so was unable to talk to anyone.
I called the on-call doctor at 5:00 and have not heard back. Dang I hate this.
The next step in prep is to mix the entire bottle of Miralax with two 28 oz bottles of Gatorade and drink it all down. I have managed to get two cups down so far. I did start feeling better when I drank some Gatorade due to the sugar it has in it. I hadn’t had any sugar or salt all day.
So far the Miralax hasn’t started working but I may not have anything left in me. Sorry for all the shitty details – Pun intended!
We shall see how the night goes. I still have the Miralax to get down and then I am to take two more laxatives. Not sure I will go there. I am going to give what I have taken so far time to work before I take anything else. I’m afraid if I do all that has been prescribed I will run into problems.
Yesterday and this morning I had lots of BM’s so was fairly cleaned out before I ever started the prep. Sure wish the doctor would call me so I can get some direction.
Still struggling to get the new Love in Action website to come up on all three of my devices. I still haven’t managed to get it to come up on the desktop and it is hit and miss on my iPhone and iPad. I decided to set it all aside and deal with it after tomorrow. My priority right now is the colonoscopy.
We have to leave for Wichita at 6:20 in the morning so we can be at the hospital by 7:30. I filled out all the paperwork this morning so that is ready to go. My procedure is at 9:00 and I am betting I am out of there before 11:00. It sure will be good to have this behind me. (Oops, another pun!)
Haven’t done much today but run to the bathroom. I did get the laundry I washed yesterday folded and put away. I make a post on the Love in Action page about the pizza. I took a deposit to the bank and then stopped by and ordered the pizza. I have to give them plenty of notice so they can make sure they have the items on hand to make 50 pizzas as well as the staff to make them. The store is running a back-to-school special on pizza that week so it will be discounted. The manager said she would honor the sale price for me. That is much appreciated. The Center is going to pick up the pizza so all I have to do on the 21st is go pay for it.
Man I will be relieved when this is all done. I had the original problem that started this whole chain of events back in February. Our modern medical system doesn’t move too fast these days. I sure hope and trust that the doctor discovers what my problem is and can come up with some real solutions. I am tired of having to be close to a bathroom many days.
Grateful the pizza is ordered, grateful the laundry got put away, and grateful tomorrow is almost here.
