This has been a short day. I finally slept the clock around last night. Kathy came in to check on me to make sure I was still breathing around noon. Man, it feels different when I sleep all night!

I worked on the month-end report for Love in Action this afternoon. I write it a couple days early and then reread, re-edit, etc. a couple times before it is ready to post the first of the month. Sure wish I could learn to be less wordy but there is a lot that happens each month and I never know what to leave out.

I will balance the month-end books on the 30th and double check that the numbers I reported were correct. I have some funds from PayPal that I am not sure how they will handle. I did a birthday post and PayPal pays out the funds over time. I expect the second half of the payout yet this month. There record keeping and tracking on that event is a bit hard to follow.

I wrote six thank you notes and put them in the mailbox. I thought I was done but found a couple more when I was working on the month-end report that I need to write. I’m sure I miss some along the way. Sure wish VENMO would give me mailing addresses too so those that give that way can be better acknowledged. I have never posted names of donors on the Love in Action facebook page. I’m sure some wouldn’t mind seeing their name but know others wouldn’t appreciate it. It would be a burden to contact everyone and see what their preference is so I don’t list any.

Tomorrow morning I need to go to Emporia and get some new CPAP supplies. I need to do a better job of replacing the plastic part of my face mask monthly. It gets stretched out and then leaks all night and I take off my mask as a result. I am eligible for a partial replacement of the mask monthly but forget to do so. Tomorrow is my six-month point of having the CPAP so will get a full new face mask, tubing, a new water tank and some filters.

I have a Zoom meeting tomorrow afternoon with an immigration attorney so we can talk current policies on immigration and post to the Love in Action Facebook page. There are so many people that think that the undocumented have done nothing to fix their status. They don’t understand how the laws and policies have changed making it a real challenge to fix their status, in fact, in most cases impossible.

The rest of the week is full of empty space right now. We shall see if that holds through the week. Most weeks something or other comes up and I am always grateful I have the space to deal with what comes up.

Ants have returned to our house. They had pretty much disappeared but with the recent rain have come back. They are NOT a welcome guest in my house. Kathy had gotten a pizza today and when she went back to get another piece, the box was full of ants. YUCK! I did one spray and will do another one tonight.

Still sitting with the totes and trying to figure out the best way to organize them. The bulk order is to be in this week so that will let me know how much space I will need. I’m sure this will all sort itself out soon enough. It is nice not to have four boxes of stuff in the dining room. Not sure the tote rack and totes is a fashionable use of my dining room but it is what it is.

Only three months till Christmas. Oh my. I suppose I should give some time and attention to it. I will be gone for 16 days in November so November will feel like a short month. I think I know what I want to do this year. Just need to get a list going and get it done. Years ago when the kids were little, I would take a weeks vacation the end of October and do all my shopping then. I don’t buy near as many gifts these days so it doesn’t take a week to get it all done.

This week I hope to work on exploring grant opportunities, exploring some bulk providers for some of the goods needed for the Go Bags, and figuring out some dates and times to do the work parties to put the go bags together. We shall see how successful I am with any or all of those things.

Grateful for lots of sleep at last, grateful the month-end report writing has begun, and grateful for lots of empty space this week.
