Happy Halloween! This day is full of memories for me. Craig and I got married in 1979. We got divorced on April Fool’s Day. Hard to forget both of those days!

I had gotten some candy at Walmart that had some sort of juice/jelly candy that was a bit hit. I’m glad it all got taken as it didn’t look good to me. I also had full sized starburst, skittles, etc. Many of my little trick or treaters said you got the good stuff! I think I had about 40 of them. It is after 8:00 so I turned out the light. Sometimes they knock anyways but we will see what happens tonight.

This has been a very quiet day for me. I took the whole day and did absolutely nothing. I took a chair nap and read most of the day. My soul needs to slow down a bit from all the rush and busyness of the last two weeks. It was hard to think about much today and I knew that if I tried to do something it wouldn’t go easy so why try.

I did get a very generous check today for Love in Action. We now have enough money to get supplies for up to 200 bags if needed. What a relief that is. Now I won’t worry about funding for a bit. I have some incredible friends that give so very generously.

I guess I did go to the bank and made a deposit and dropped the thank you notes off at the post office. And I did three loads of laundry, put fresh sheets on my bed and got the clothes folded. That is my complete day!

Tomorrow I need to write some notes about being gone. I like to leave Kathy some written instructions in case the internet goes down or Hulu wants her to reverify the account. I also need to leave phone numbers just in case.

Monday I will do laundry one last time and then pack. I sure hope I have what I need. I think I do. Can’t imagine what I would need that I don’t already have. The temperature over there is low 40’s in the evenings and mid 50’s during the day. Sounds like winter clothes and layers to me. This will be the first time of using my new suitcase. Trusting it is about the same size as my other one as I went 60 days on a trip with the other one and did OK.

I have to be in KC by 10:15 Tuesday morning to start the adventure. The first day is always a long one with the travel. I think we have to do four different flights to get to our first destination of Poland. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly.

I keep hearing things may pop in the Middle East the day after the election. We will proceed on schedule and deal with what ever happens. I typically don’t live in fear and don’t let it stop me. Anything can happen anywhere you are.

Sitting with many memories in my head tonight. Seeing all the little ones in their costumes and remembering days long gone of my kids and their costumes. What a fun day for the little ones and a great example of how we should be living. Ring the doorbell and get candy without a reason.

Grateful for the big check that came today, grateful for a chair nap, and grateful for a full day of rest.
