This has been a weird day for me. I took a nap yesterday and slept for a couple of hours. I really didn’t expect to sleep much last night but went to sleep around 11:00 and slept until 7:00 this morning. Since I got up so early, this has felt like a very long day.
Did some paperwork. Am working on the July month end report for Love in Action. I transfered the funds that came in via VENMO to the checking account. I had to pay for 90 more emails for the Pen Pal program. Got most of the report written but am sure I will have to make some last minute adjustments if any more donations come in next week. I always try to keep the report short but haven’t succeeded at that yet. So much happens in a month!
Got two books of stamps in the mail today. We have received over 800 stamps since June. I usually have to buy about 400 stamps a month so that is about two months worth of stamps. Yay! This way I can save the donated funds for special events for the Detainees. I had bought a bunch of stamps before they went up mid July so have lots of stamps on hand right now. That is a good problem to have!
It is scary hot outside today. The dogs came in early this morning. Kathy put them back out for a bit so they could potty. When she brought them back in it took about 30 minutes for their breathing to slow down. Not fit for man or beast outside today. This heat wave is to continue till the first of next week.
The Emporia Gazette posted a heat advisory and they said the temperature was to be in the mid 100’s. That is a bit exaggerated!
No plans for tomorrow and all of next week. I will need to go to town and buy some groceries one of these days. I cleaned out my refrigerator this morning and it is almost empty. The food that was in there wasn’t edible but at least it looked like I had food to eat. Rearranged my freezer to make room for the beef that is coming soon. I’m not keeping any of it for me but I may need to store it for a bit before I can get it to where it belongs.
I have had no symptoms from the procedure yesterday. Even my throat isn’t sore. I’m grateful I recover quickly. It is a relief to know the stone in my pancreas is not dangerous and I can live with only a little over half of my pancreas. My stool test shows I have all the enzymes I need to digest food.
Sitting in my valley of peace tonight. Not much on my calendar or on my pending list of things to do. Hoping time will slow down a bit for me. This year has flown by and I am ready for it to slow down a bit. There is a richness to these empty space days that I want to soak in.
Grateful for all the stamps that have been sent, grateful my recovery was easy, and grateful for air conditioning on this hot, humid summer day.
