After not stopping for groceries yesterday, I came home and placed an on-line pickup order at Walmart. I went in to Emporia early afternoon to pick it up. I stopped for lunch on the way, went through the car wash, and filled my car up with gas while I was in town. Kathy helped me carry it all in when I got home.
Walmart was out of ice today. I will need to go pick up a bag later this week. With this heat, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised everyone is buying ice.
Nicole called this afternoon and we had a nice chat. I saw the other two kids yesterday so feel like I got caught up with all three now. Love when that happens.
I took a short nap this afternoon. I think the heat sapped all of my energy today. It is scary hot out there again today.
Got a note from the gastroenterologist doctor that he needs my cardiologist to clear me for the colonoscopy. I would think his clearance for the procedure I had last week would suffice but what do I know. I will send my cardiologist a message and ask him to send clearance again. Geez, this seems complicated again.
Facebook sent me a fundraiser post for my birthday that is coming up in August. I decided to attempt to raise enough money to pay for pizza for the Detainees this year. I usually throw myself a birthday party but I would rather give the Detainees pizza instead this year. I have already raised over $200. People are so incredibly generous.
No plans for the rest of the week. It is to cool down a bit starting tomorrow. I welcome the cool. I can’t believe it is almost the end of July already. Where does the time go?
I found a meme in my memories today with a quote from Mother Teresa reminding me what we resist, persists. It was this meme a year ago that led me to stop going to protests and instead do something positive to help create change in the world. I still believe that love is the answer and fighting hate with hate will not get us there. Somehow, some way we have got to stop with the labels, name calling and division and start remembering we all have more in common with each other than our differences.
Grateful the groceries are in the house and my cupboards are restocked, grateful for the generosity of my donors that are supporting the pizza idea for my birthday, and grateful for the empty space ahead this week.
