Day six work day is in the bag – literally as we filled 100 Go Bags today. Oh my! I am one tired puppy again tonight. I am ever so grateful for the helping hands that made this possible. I had six wonderful volunteers today that made quick work of stuffing 100 Go Bags.

Tomorrow more volunteers are coming to help sort and count the leftovers so I will know what needs to be ordered for next go round. The sweat shirts and sweat pants are a mess and need sorted by size. The rest of the things need counted and then bagged so I can reduce the number of totes we have to carry to the storage shed.

I can put seven Go Bags in one tote so I can store 84 of them in my house. A friend is going to take the other 16 and store at her house until we get the storage place. Then I will only have the rack with 12 totes in my house! Hallelujah! Kathy and I are tired to moving totes to get to things in the house. My house is going to fill big after tomorrow and the totes are all moved out.

It will be so good to have everything counted and stored tomorrow. Then I can set this project down until I come home from vacation and start getting the bags in the hands of the Detainees that are being deported.

We still have no idea when we will need the next set of 100. It could be early to mid December or it could be next year. I have no idea what the demand for them will be. I want to set things up so if we have to move quickly for the next set we can.

I look forward to getting more of my brain back. I have been so consumed by this project that I haven’t done much else the last month or so. It will be so good to set it down and free up some brain cells for a bit. My vacation timing is perfect as I need to get totally away from this project and come back fresh and ready to go again.

I woke up early this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep. I got up and did some things to get ready for the work day. Got tired again so went back to bed and took a morning nap. I’m grateful I did. My body almost gave out of me this afternoon. It is tired!

Got my water bill from the time I did over 75 loads of laundry. It was about $15 higher than normal. Much cheaper than paying $350 to take everything to a laundromat. I need to remember to get the water bill paid before I leave on vacation.

Didn’t make it to the bank today to make a deposit. Maybe tomorrow I can do that and take the water bill in and get it paid. The water bill is the only bill I have that I have to write a check and either deliver it or mail it. Last time I mailed it, it took three weeks to get there.

Haven’t done anything else today. No plans to do anything else the rest of the day except move totes around. My bed is covered with back packs. May have to sleep on the couch tonight. I have about half of them put into totes and placed in the storage rack. Maybe I will find the energy to do the other half of them. Then again, maybe not.

Just loaded up the back rack with filled Go Bags. We ended up doing 112 bags today. We were over achievers today! Thankful a friend will take them and store them for me. I may not have a bed to sleep on tonight. I’ll have to weigh moving them all off or sleeping on the couch. Right now, the couch wins!

What a day! It is amazing watching women work. They figure things out and work together. I had trouble getting them to stop and take a water break. Man, what would I have done without help?

Grateful for six sets of extra hands and hearts today, grateful the first set of Go Bags are stuffed and ready to go, and grateful this first step is almost put to bed. Actually it has my bed so maybe that is true on two level! Ha!
