I went to Emporia this morning to pick up the supplies for the colonoscopy prep. Man it was hard to put a container of MiraLAX in my cart and know that I have to mix it and drink the whole thing. I am grateful I only do one night of prep instead of two nights this time.
I am excited that the amendment proposal to change the way the judges are elected failed. However I have a bit of cognitive dissonance going on because the Republicans choose Ty Masterson as their choice for Governor. Isn’t he the one that pushed the amendment? Uhm…….
I went to Christy Davis election watch party for a short bit. I got there just before she gave her concession speech. I got to visit with some Love in Action supporters and vent a bit. I needed that. I so appreciate the support others give me for this program and it encourages me to put the hard stuff down and push on.
I got a call that the beef is ready to be picked up. They are closed tomorrow and I am busy Thursday and Friday so will pick it up Monday. Two of the people each getting 1/3 of 1/2 will get their beef Monday. I have room in my freezer for the other 1/3 and I will get it to Nicole on another day. I didn’t keep any of it for me this time as I still have beef left over from last year. Kathy and I don’t eat that much of it anymore.
I had a quick chat with my brother Keith today. He is getting 1/2 of the beef. It was good to catch up with him. He has had some health issues going on and his son just had a baby that is in NICU and I needed to check on her.
Tomorrow I am picking up Ellexia and we are going to meet Jason for lunch. After I take Ellexia home, I am going to a church to do a presentation on Love in Action. They only want me to talk for 20 – 30 minutes. I will have to remember to wear my watch as I could talk for an hour.
Thursday I do my prep day and Friday I have to be in Wichita at 7:30 for the colonoscopy. I will be so glad when it is over.
It felt good to get some frustration out tonight and have the chance to vent. I feel more grounded than I have been. I reached out to the guy that started the latest mess and I think we are good. Somehow, someway, we have got to remember how to talk to each other and stop the name calling.
Grateful the amendment proposal didn’t pass, grateful for friends that let me vent tonight, and grateful I get to see Ellexia and Jason tomorrow.
