Another day, another doctor’s appointment. Glad this run of three in one week is done! This one was a compliance required check of my sleep apnea machine. What a farce. But that box is checked off and Medicare will now pay for the equipment.
While I was there I talked to him about the MRI results. He was rather lame about them. I asked him if there was a blood test that told them if my pancreas was working or not. There is and so I asked him if he would order it. He rather reluctantly did.
The results are back and one of the two levels is elevated. He said he would leave it to the GI doctor to go from here. He did promise to send them the results.
I feel like I am a dog chasing my tail. Where does this lead? Maybe it isn’t anything to worry about? Wish I could find a doctor that was curious. My concern is when a pancreas goes bad, things can go downhill very fast. Guess preventative medicine isn’t practiced these days so much.
The GI doctor’s office hasn’t called with the MRI results yet. Not sure they will. My next scheduled visit with them is for the colonoscopy the end of May. Maybe things will stay stable until then?
Had lunch with Jason today. It is always a good day when I get to spend time with one of my kids.
I stopped and filled the car up on my way home. It was almost $50 to fill it up. Yikes! How do people on a low or fixed income afford to drive these days? I know I am attempting to reduce the amount of trips I make to Emporia these days.
I noticed I have a small amount of hail damage on the hood of my car. I’m not surprised as we have had at least three different rounds of hail this spring already. I won’t turn it in to insurance as the damage isn’t that bad. I don’t want my rates to go up over that.
No plans for the rest of the week and into next week. Monday A/C. Wednesday I take the dogs to Marion for their summer haircuts and then go pick them up in the afternoon. Wednesday evening I have a meeting to go to at 5:30. Friday I have a lunch to go to.
A friend dropped by with a sweet surprise for Kathy and I. While we were talking she said she has also noticed being around others is draining these days. Glad I am not the only one that would rather stay home than be around people these days.
I had gotten a bunch of food when I had found someone that was to build a blessing box I was going to put in my yard. The lady never came through with building the blessing box and the food has been sitting there. I saw a note from someone I kinda know today saying they were in a bind due to an accident and needed food. She is coming to get it tomorrow. Yay! Grateful it will get to someone that needs it and I will free up a shelf in my back room pantry.
Looking forward to a couple days at home. I was able to not get drained being out for three days in a row this week which was a good thing. Today at lunch though I noticed how loud it was and I was grateful to get out of there. My system is very sensitive right now for some reason. I am not tolerating chaos and noise very well.
Grateful for lunch with Jason, grateful for a sweet treat from a special friend, and grateful I can provide some food for a friend.
