Mom and Dad married on this day in 1948. They enjoyed 52 years together before dad died. I’m grateful for the role they played in my life and the family they created.

15 years ago today I graduated from Core Star Energy Healing School. It marked a big turning point in my life and I will forever be grateful. At least three of the students that were in my class will be at the retreat I am going to Saturday. I love the timing of the Universe to bring us back together again after 15 years.

We missed the brunt of the storms that came through last night. I would check radar and think that we were going to get strong rain and wind and it wouldn’t happen. I would go back to radar and see that the storm either split or turned and went around us. Grateful for that.

Had trouble finding sleep last night. I had slept too much the night and day before.

This day started with an hour long phone call to a utility company about a credit from Shandler, Ltd. I think we resolved the issue. I have to send them some paperwork proof of what we talked about. Not sure when they might issue a check. It is complicated family business on my side of it.

Talked to both Nicole and Jason afterwards to fill them in on the conversation. I struggle knowing what is the “right” thing to do in cases like this. I guess it kinda depends on which angle you look at it from. I will do my best and that is all I can do.

Kathy had me check her eye last night. She said it felt like something was in it. It was all bloodshot with a bit of white showing. We looked it up on-line and the most probable cause was a blood vessel burst.

This morning the eye was slightly bulging with blood and no white to be seen. I think she is turning into a vampire! We called her doctor’s office and they had her come in to be seen by one of the doctor’s on staff. I went with her in case they needed to dilate her eyes. I find it hard to drive after that happens.

He didn’t do that but wanted her to go to her eye doctor to have him give a second opinion. Her medical doctor called in some antibiotic eye drops.

We went to Walmart where Kathy’s eye doctor is. Luckily he was able to see her right away. It is a burst blood vessel but he said it wasn’t bleeding anymore. He told her not to get the prescribed eye drops as she didn’t need them. He gave her some eye drops to help reduce the swelling and irritation. He didn’t even charge her for the visit. How nice was that? It will probably take up to a month for it to completely clear up. He said if it happens again she will need some blood work done to make sure her platelet count isn’t off. Both doctors want to see her again Monday if it isn’t better by then.

We headed home after that visit. On the way to town we got stopped for over 20 minutes with road construction on Highway 50. I pulled off onto old highway 50 on the way home and came home the back roads. Not sure how much time we saved but it sure was easier driving not being behind 20 semi trucks like we were all the way to Emporia.

I received another donation in the mail today for Love in Action so took that one plus the one from yesterday to the bank to deposit them. I then went to Subway to get some food as I had forgotten to eat today.

I didn’t get PayPal called today. After being on the phone for over two hours this morning I didn’t have it in me to make another call. Maybe I can get it done tomorrow before I leave for my retreat weekend. If not, it will wait till next week.

Before I leave tomorrow I need to gather the information I need to mail to the utility company and get that process started. I don’t expect a quick answer. It took the other utility company six months to decide how to handle the same situation with them. I will do my part and then let go of the situation and see what happens.

I am thinking about organizing a birthday party for Love in Action on July 11. We will be one-years old. I would love to meet my donors and supporters and a birthday party sounds fun. I will give it some thought and see what I can come up with. I need an activity of some sort – maybe singing or drumming? Uhm…. Lots of options. I can’t have it be a political event as that is not allowed under the 501(c)3 rules. I thought about a stamp drive and ask all the members of Love in Action to send a sheet of 20 stamps. They could use one of the stamps to mail the rest to Love in Action. I have lots of ideas but nothing definite yet.

We have surpassed my fundraising goal of $1,000 by over $600 at this point. People are so incredibly generous. We will have enough to do a Labor Day event in addition to the three we are doing in June and July. I will need to give some thought as to what to do for the winter holidays sooner or later.

Looking forward to getting away this weekend. It will be good for my soul. I haven’t taken time like this for me for a long time. I forget to do it and can’t ever think of where to go if I think about doing it. This opportunity kinda dropped into my lap and I grabbed it.

Sometimes life goes the way you plan and sometimes it doesn’t. I had anticipated a quiet day-at-home today but that isn’t what happened. I am surprised I am still above neutral after the chaos from the phone calls and the unexpected trip to town. Grateful both issues got resolved somewhat.

Grateful for mom and dad and their life together, grateful for Core Star Energy Healing School and the path it put me on for my life, and grateful Kathy’s eye wasn’t a serious issue and we had two compassionate doctors today.
