11 years ago I walked into Santiago Spain after walking the Camino, I walked approximately 500 miles from Saint Jean Pied de Port France to Santiago. It was a grand adventure for me and I proved to myself I can do hard things. 50 days alone in a foreign country where I don’t speak the language and am not normally a physical person. Sometimes you gotta get out of your comfort zone and live big and take a risk!

This has been a quiet day at home. I did get my laundry washed, dried, folded and put away so can’t say I didn’t do anything today. But, that is about all I did. I would think of things that need done and think, no, not today. Sometimes I can get something done in the evening. We shall see if that is the case today.

Tomorrow I have two phone calls scheduled – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Have a feeling I will be tired by the end of the second one. I am looking forward to both of them though and will get some new information about Love in Action and about myself.

Wednesday I am planning on going to KC for part of the day. Have some donations to pick up for Love in Action and take my passport to Nicole so she can do something for our trip.

Thursday evening there is a class about social media I would like to go to. Saturday I have to go to El Dorado to pick up a bunch of socks a group has collected for the Go Bags.

My quiet weeks are coming to an end for a bit. The following week we start working on the Go Bags. I have six work days scheduled so will be busy doing those and getting ready for the next one in between work days.

I am looking forward to reclaiming my house floor space. I have had boxes and totes on the floor for the last three weeks. When my house is cluttered, my mind has trouble settling and quieting. It will be good to get them moved and my floor space freed up again.

Have been sitting with my memories of the Camino today. To this day, I still don’t believe I did it. It turned out to be the best adventure I have ever taken. So many life lessons that continue to be explored and understood even today. Wonder how many times I have said to myself “If I can walk the Camino, I can do …..”

It is finally going to cool off later this week. Maybe summer will finally give up and allow fall temperatures to be dominant. Hope we have a long fall and not dip down into winter temperatures too soon.

I attempted to read the news today but it all felt distorted. I had trouble relating to most of it. I also realized today that if there is a blue wave in November and the Democrats can have more of a say in policy, we are still in for a very rocky road due to the war and the high debt. Things cannot change very fast and then there will be an election in two years. People will blame the Democrats for not righting the ship and will vote red again.

Beginning to really understand the limits of our politicians and our system of government. We have got to fix what is really broken or just a shift from one party to the other won’t help anything.

Grateful for a rest day, grateful the laundry is done, and grateful it is almost time to start putting together the Go Bags.
