This has been a rest and recovery day. I had trouble finding sleep last night. I think I was too tired to sleep! Things broke loose inside and I peed about every 30 minutes for three hours. That can interrupt sleep too!

Woke up feeling better than I have for a bit. Even had a bit of energy to get the rest of the car unloaded, dishes washed and everything put away from yesterday. Got a few thank you notes written and have several more to write. Having trouble finding words for a couple of them.

My neighbor’s son came over today. We had talked yesterday about him helping create a website for me. I hadn’t planned on getting going on it this quick but he was here and ready to go. We had a conversation and then he got on my desktop and we figured out a domain, etc. Have no idea what any of that means but I have a website now. I chose Chasecountydetainees.com as the website as I want detainees families to find it when they are searching about the Chase County Detention Center. Love in Action will be featured within the site.

We talked about what I wanted on the site and he went home. About an hour later he came back over and showed me the site. We still have some copy to write and I need to let the Detention Center know what I am doing and then we can go live.

Man, that was easy. He is 12 or 13 years old! I told Kathy he saved me many cuss words and throwing things. He asked me if I wanted the code to get into the website to edit it and I said it would do me no good. He is even creating a logo and banner!

He is to track how many hours he is spending and then I will pay him. We didn’t finalize how much per hour I will pay him. Have no idea what is fair but will let my intuition guide me. He will keep the site updated as needed. How easy is that?

One of the ladies that was at the party yesterday had taken pictures of the thank you displays that the Detainees had made. She blurred out names for privacy and then she posted the giant cards to the Love in Action site. I’m glad we have a permanent record of them. They are special and I am so grateful for them.

I made a peach cobbler using some of the peaches I got Friday. It is yummy! One of my all time favorites, especially when I eat it warm with some ice cream. Yes, I ate that today!

For the most part I am feeling better. Still have some tenderness in the kidney area but I think it is better. I have drank lots today and the burning feeling and heaviness in my bladder is gone. I think the antibiotics are doing the trick. Someone should call me tomorrow with the culture results. We shall see if they need to do anything different after those results come in.

No plans for tomorrow. I need to finish up my thank-you notes and go to the bank to deposit some checks from yesterday. I need to mop the kitchen floor – I will see if I get that done tonight or if it will wait till tomorrow.

Tuesday I have to be at the Doctor’s office in Wichita by 8:50. That will make an earlier than normal morning for me. I hope I have the energy to stop at Costco when I am done. Costco is close to the office so won’t have to drive across town out of my way to stop. It will be interesting to see what this doctor recommends and how long it will take to do whatever is needed. Not expecting many answers Tuesday.

The rest of the week is empty space. One day I will need to go get groceries. I want to share some peaches with Michelle so might run those in to her tomorrow. I’ve been trying to hook up with Ellexia every other week or so for lunch so will try to do that this week. Her social calendar is much fuller than mine and it can be hard to find time she is free.

Still basking in the glow the event yesterday gave me. So much support and love was shown to me. I trust those that came felt the same love back to them.

Have lots of empty space coming up. With the event behind me now, I don’t have lots on my plate. Trying to decide what to do with all this empty space. Days seem to pass quickly even when I don’t plan anything.

Grateful for a new website in progress, grateful everything got put away from yesterday, and grateful I am feeling better.
