What a beautiful day on the prairie. Mid 70’s, no wind and bright blue skies. I was able to sit outside and enjoy the beauty of fall on the prairie.
Jim worked hard all afternoon sanding the steps and landing. Still has a ways to go but hoping to be able to do some painting tomorrow. The weather is to turn winter-like on Monday and Tuesday so only have tomorrow to do some painting. We will see how far he gets.
I have been cranky today. It is frustrating to not be able to do much and be limited in my mobility. Matilda hasn’t been cranky today – just me! Did get several loads of laundry done and bake two loaves of banana bread. Made Shepherd’s Pie for dinner. Had to take a nap again. I am amazed how fast I get tired right now.
We saw a bald eagle flying over the back yard this afternoon. Stood out and watched it for about five minutes. The sun was reflecting on it’s head. So beautiful!
Looked back over my blog from my first bunion surgery in August. I didn’t have a cranky day this soon last time. Guess I am ahead of schedule!
May try to get out of the house tomorrow and go into Emporia or out to eat tomorrow night. Maybe that would help me get over being cranky. This too shall pass! Just not one to not do much and sitting is getting old already.
Haven’t taken a pain pill today. My foot really hasn’t hurt at all today. I have ice on it now as the toes feel a bit warm. After three days I don’t have to ice it unless I think it makes it feel better. Don’t think it hurts it to get iced – not sure it helps it either though.
Need to get downstairs tomorrow and make up the guest room. May have a guest coming in Monday evening. Jim will drive me around and I will go in downstairs from the sliding glass doors. Steps are not my friend right now.
While I was looking at my blog from August I realized I got put in the boot one week after surgery last time. This time they aren’t having me come in for a one week appointment so it will be two weeks before I get put in the boot this time. The boot is heavier than the dressing and I had to be non-weight bearing with the boot so guess I am better off with the dressing. With the boot though I could start moving my foot around a bit and it doesn’t move much with the dressing.
Grateful this day is almost over and tomorrow is a new day, grateful for all the the work Jim got done today on the steps, and grateful for the beautiful fall day on the prairie today.
