Went to Emporia late morning to get a haircut. Stopped at the bank in Cottonwood Falls on my way out of town to make a deposit. I went to a different bank when I got in Emporia and made a withdrawal.
Picked up Ellexia and we went out for lunch. Found out she had a friend over for the night but the friend was still sleeping. I didn’t discover this until we were done with lunch or I would have ordered something to go for her friend.
Took Ellexia home and then went through the car wash and gave my car a bath. Took two sacks of books I have read to the library to give to the Friends of the Library so they can resell them at their next book sale.
Went to my hairdresser and got my hair cut. He gave me a very short summer cut this time. Found out he is retiring September 4 so I will only get one more haircut from him. Dang, I do not like breaking in new-to-me hairdressers. It is hard to find someone that knows how to cut short hair. Anyone know of someone?
Came home after my haircut and got the mail. I got another donation for Love in Action plus I got a VENMO deduction this morning. Always a good day when a donation or two come in.
Took a nap this afternoon. Not sure why I was so tired but I was so I gave myself the gift of a nap. Had a weird dream and woke myself up to change the dream channel and decided I better get up and not sleep some more or I won’t sleep tonight.
The neighbor mowed our lawn this morning. It sure looks nice with its haircut and trim. He even brought over his weed eater and took care of that. This hot humid weather is not good for Kathy to be out in so I appreciated that he took care of the weed-eating so she wouldn’t be out doing it.
Tomorrow I have an eye doctor appointment at 12:15. Not sure how long that will take but I will stop and have lunch afterwards. I don’t think I have more errands to take care of but didn’t think I had any to do today and found several things to take care of. I need to check to see if I need any groceries and take care of that while I am in town. Then I will get to stay home for the rest of the week. Two trips to Emporia in one week is enough for me.
Got notice that my renewal for my notary was approved and finalized. Now I am good to go until 08/01/2030. That feels like a long time into the future.
Will need to post the month-end report for Love in Action Wednesday. I also need to create a post for the stamp drive. I have mentioned it in several posts but haven’t highlighted it with a post of its own. Need to make one final list of things I need for the birthday party. I think I have the rest of the stuff but need to dig it all out to make sure.
Have lots of empty space on my calendar after the appointment tomorrow. Nothing else on my calendar until sometime next week. I think I am becoming a hermit and I prefer to stay home these days. It is too peopley out there for me most days. Too much stirred up energy out there that is easy for me to pick up.
Tonight is the full moon. Maybe things will settle down again for a bit after tonight. The energy has felt stirred up and chaotic to me lately. Hard not to get caught up in it all.
I do need to call a few friends and get some one-on-one time scheduled. I so love having deep conversations with people that aren’t afraid to be completely vulnerable and are willing to go deep. They do my heart and soul good.
Grateful for a haircut, grateful for time with Ellexia, and grateful for a nap on a hot summer day.
