This has been a busy day. I went into Emporia this morning for a haircut and made a quick stop at the grocery store. Came home and cleaned house to prepare for my guest that arrived tonight. While I was cleaning the Pioneer Bluffs Newsletter material was delivered for me to stuff. We worked on it for an hour and got one box done.
I had to stop and finish cleaning the house and do chores. I have worked off and on the rest of the day and have five of eight boxes done. Decided to take a break and blog and then take my bath. I may do one more box before I go to bed unless I get too tired. I have two helpers coming tomorrow to help me finish. All of them still need glued shut and I sure would like to have them all stuffed before 9:00 tomorrow when the helpers show up. We’ll see if I can make that happen or not.
My guest checked in around 8:30 tonight. He got a quick tour of the house, dropped off his stuff and left. He didn’t think he would be back before midnight. Not sure what his plans are for tomorrow. He is staying two days and came to visit a friend in Cottonwood Falls. I doubt that I see much of him.
Friday I will need to get his room cleaned up before I can leave for Oklahoma. The house sitter will be back for eleven days while I am gone and I like to leave the house in order for her. I don’t have any rush to get to Oklahoma so it may be early afternoon before I can get gone.
I do need to detour and go to Chandler, OK to pick up the deck paint. I told the nice guy that figured out what I needed I would be there on Friday to pick it up. Trusting he will have it ready for me. If I think about it I will call and confirm tomorrow. It is about 35 minutes out of my way to go the Chandler and don’t want to drive there if they don’t have it ready.
The local junk dealer came and hauled off my broken refrigerator out of my garage today. Leaning against the refrigerator was a heavy metal decorative piece that had a broken part. He took that away for me too. I so appreciated him coming to get my old stuff and make it go away.
It will be good to finish up this newsletter project in the morning. I like doing projects like these that are quick and easy. I can see that I accomplished something when doing them and that always feels good.
Tomorrow afternoon I want to get a big batch of Chex Mix made up and put in the freezer. I always give the kids a bag of it for Thanksgiving and need to get it made up before I have my next foot surgery. I got the stuff to make it at Costco yesterday.
When I get home from Oklahoma I will have a long list of things I will need to get done before November 6. I want to get all the non-perishable food stuff on my Thanksgiving list so I will only have to shop for vegetables, fruit and dairy when it gets closer and I am on crutches. I will need to get the chicken coop cleaned out one last time before winter too. Jim has told me he would prefer not to do that task. Sometimes I forget he is a city boy and cleaning a chicken coop is a country boy thing!
Grateful for a haircut today, grateful over half the newsletter project is completed, and grateful the refrigerator and art piece are gone.
