It has been a busy day around here today. This morning I started my Thanksgiving Dinner cooking. Made a loaf of banana bread, one batch of fudge, eclairs, and a pecan pie. Still have pumpkin pies to make tonight and a cherry jello salad.

I have five people coming for dinner tonight plus Jim and I. I have a batch of homemade spaghetti sauce cooking. I will fix a big green salad and some French bread to go with it. I will also roast a spaghetti squash as well as cook traditional spaghetti.

Did three loads of laundry and a bit of cleaning. My house really needs deep cleaned again but it is too hard to clean when I have to use a crutch. I’m afraid I haven’t used my crutch as much as I should have today. It is so hard to bend over with a crutch. So far my foot doesn’t hurt so I don’t think I have over used it.

Jim woke up not feeling well this morning. He is taking a long nap this afternoon. He was feeling a bit better before he laid down. I trust what ever was wrong will pass quickly and he will be able to enjoy the company that is coming tonight and tomorrow. It is no fun to be sick on Thanksgiving.

All five of my guests coming for dinner are spending the night. I love having a house full of people and will enjoy this evening and tomorrow. I’m fixing waffles, bacon and eggs for breakfast tomorrow morning.

My brother and part of his family are coming for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow at 1:00. I still have room at my table if anyone wants to come join us. I am fixing a ham instead of a turkey this year. I have plenty of food so come eat with us!

The wind blew like crazy last night. It finally calmed down early morning. Today the sun has been out and it has been a beautiful day on the prairie although a touch cold for my liking. The high was only in the low 40’s. Too cold to paint today.

Tomorrow I will fix the ham, cheesy potato casserole, and a green bean casserole. One of the guests coming is bringing veggies to bake and another is bringing yeast rolls. We will have a feast for sure!

Got the last of my Christmas presents for Saturday wrapped and ready. Nice to have that done. I will have Friday to get myself organized for Saturday. Saturday I am fixing a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. We will celebrate Christmas after we stuff our faces with turkey and dressing.

Remembered to do my foot exercises this morning after I took my shower. I had forgotten to do them yesterday. The big toe is moving fairly well already. The left foot feels more stiff than the right one. Both are sensitive to touch, especially when I am trying to sleep. My feet get cold if I don’t cover them but the covers bother my feet. What is a girl to do?

I am missing my daily trip down to see my chickens. Jim has been bringing four to six eggs a day up. Their timing was good to start laying again as I have been using lots of eggs for my baking needs.

After Saturday I need to get myself organized and think about what I will want to take to Oklahoma. I will be back in KS Dec 17 – 20 but than I will be in Oklahoma pretty much until the middle of April. Hard to think what to take. I can always come back home if I need something important.

Grateful the cooking has gone smoothly so far, grateful my foot is allowing me to move around without the crutch all the time, and grateful Jim is feeling better this afternoon.
