This day hasn’t gone as planned. I stayed home all morning waiting on people to show up. No one did until early afternoon. My first cowboy came in – only problem the cowboy is a cowgirl and she has a little dog with her. Still not sure how many are coming and if they are male or female and when they might show up. Guess they will sort it all out when they get here and decide who gets what bedroom. They think I will have at least seven guests and maybe more. Sometimes the bull riders need a bed last minute. It will be an interesting weekend if nothing else.
The deck guy didn’t come until after 4:00. Not sure if he will get done today or not. The guys came back out to fix the south barn door this afternoon. Glad that is done. They can’t figure out how and why it broke. I had them look at a broken window I discovered but they can’t fix it so will have to call the person they recommended to come out.
A student that is doing a summer internship at LMI came out to see the house. He is going to rent a room for the next eight weeks or so. He seems like a nice young man. He will be back Sunday to move in. His parents will probably come check out the house with him. He is a typical college kid and doesn’t know what his plans are other than doing this internship for the summer. He may or may not be around on the weekends. I will be gone a lot this summer so it will be nice to have someone in the house most of the time.
I forgot to get groceries so I can cook for Jim when he returns tomorrow. I will run into town in the morning and pick a few things up. I looked up recipes for the instant pot to try. I have had an instant pot for a long time and haven’t learned how to use it. Seems like a good time to try it out.
I didn’t sleep much at all last night so have been dozing off and on all day. I decided to not take a nap as I did yesterday and thinking that is what caused me to not be able to sleep last night. I kept falling asleep in my chair today though. I don’t think I slept for very long at a time.
Got almost an inch of rain last night but thankfully no strong winds. I need to finish mowing but the yard is too wet to do so today. Hoping I can get it done tomorrow before Jim gets here. It was nice to see the sun this afternoon. It is to be dry and sunny for the next two days. I am so over rain right now.
Ellexia texted and asked if she could come out. I hate when I have guests and I can’t let the grandkids come out. I told her she could come Sunday night. She replied “maybe”. She makes me smile!
Feels good to be getting some projects around the house done. Jim is going to help me paint the deck later this summer. I’m grateful I found someone that could spray the sides of the house. There was a fungus growing of some sort on the north side of the house. Guess it is common with the type of material that this house is made of. It will be nice to have the decks redone and looking nice again. Have a list of other projects I need to get done too. Seems like a never ending list of things to spend money on.
Have felt a bit icky today I can tell I ate foods that are not on my regular food plan over the weekend and I am detoxing a bit. Hope I have more energy and am feeling better tomorrow. My ass has been dragging most of the day today.
Grateful for a sunny afternoon, grateful for the repairs that happened today, and grateful Jim is coming tomorrow.
