Got a good report from the PA at the surgeon’s office today. I have officially been dismissed but am to return if my feet get worse or if the healing doesn’t continue. I told her today I still don’t trust my feet to get me where I want to go pain free. She reminded me it will take up to one year for them to completely heal and feel normal again, I am five months out with my left foot and only two months on my right. The swelling is finally going down on the right foot although the PA noted some swelling today.
She told me to keep pushing my feet to their limits and even though they may act up and set me back I can’t hurt them. She said it was all part of the healing process and it will get better slowly.
I enjoyed driving my car to OK today. It is so much more comfortable riding in then the Prius ever was. Still not understanding why the lane centering device turns itself off for brief times and why the blind spot detecting system works inconsistently. I need to call the dealer tomorrow and ask.
I was going to go dress shopping in Wichita after my doctor’s appointment but after I stopped for lunch I wasn’t in the mood to go shopping. I will confess I am rarely in the mood to go shopping. Just couldn’t make myself do it today.
I got back to OK around 4:00. Helped Jim build some shelving in the garage. It was a nice day today although it was a bit windy. Felt good to be outside for a while this afternoon.
Tomorrow I have my first tax preparation class. It will be good to get this process started and to get to meet the people that I will be working with. I think the training is only in the morning but am not sure. I never got the email with the details. I haven’t gotten the details of the training next week either so am assuming I will find out more about that training tomorrow.
I brought my own income tax worksheets back to OK with me along with the backup information so I can get my taxes ready to take to my accountant. I want to get them done before I go back to KS on the 18th so I will know what other information I need to track down while there to complete the forms.
I’m still not getting mail on a regular bases here. I got the renewal policies for my homeowners insurance which told me the invoice would arrive under separate cover. I haven’t gotten the invoice yet. If I don’t get it by Monday I will have to call my agent and see if I can pay her over the phone and give her my banking numbers.
Feeling a bit more grounded today than I had been. Going back to the prairie always fills my soul. I look forward to getting back in ten days and staying for a couple of days.
Grateful for a safe trip to the prairie and back to OK, grateful for feet that are slowly healing, and grateful to be back with Jim.
