Two months till the wedding!  Oh my!  I can do this!

Had a productive day making lots of phone calls today.  The refrigerator line got fixed yesterday.  Finally able to cross something off my to-do list.

Called the Chase County Treasurer Office and let them know the post office won’t forward my car tag.  They were able to call the state office and the state is to mail it to my OK address.

Contacted three different photographers.  I want family pictures taken before the wedding.  One was way too expensive, the other gave me a quote, and the third one didn’t get back to me until late tonight.  We are going to talk tomorrow morning.

Made an appointment with a cake baker in Stillwater.  It is the same baker I used when I got Jim’s birthday cake and he loved it.  We meet with her Friday morning.

I called my car insurance lady to let her know the card I received showed my insurance was only effective until 1/20/2020.  My annual plan expired 1/20/2020 and somehow they didn’t send me the correct card.  I am covered and she emailed me a new card with the correct dates.  So far she says I don’t owe anything more by adding the new car.  Not sure I understand that but I’ll take it as long as I have coverage.

I addressed some wedding invitations today.  The rest are people that Jim wants to invite and he hasn’t decided on a final list yet.  He promised to work on them this weekend so we can get them mailed the first of the week.  The reception invitations should be in Friday so I can get them addressed this weekend and get them mailed the first of the week.

Someone from the Subaru dealership called me today to thank me for buying the car and to see if I had any questions.  I went out to sit in the car and started asking him my list of questions.  It was quickly obvious that he wasn’t going to be able to answer my questions.  However, he made an appointment for us with their Technical specialist that supposedly can answer all my questions.  We will have to drive to Oklahoma City to make the appointment but it will be worth it.  There is a possibility Service needs to look at the car too as the Blind Spot detector system only works part time.  We go next Tuesday at noon.  I find it interesting that sales people don’t know how the cars work.

We have a busy day tomorrow.  A photographer is calling in the morning to get some more information so he can give us a quote.  An electrician is coming in the morning to do some work in the back room and to add a plug for the new dishwasher.  I have tax class at 1:00.  I’ll have to leave early as we have a meeting with the preacher at 2:00.  We also have to pick Jim’s car up as he took it to the shop today so they can put new headlights in it.  Hopefully we will have some time to do some work on the house.

Friday I have an appointment with the bakery so I can tell them what we want for the wedding cake.  Not sure if they make sheet cakes or not – may have to serve cupcakes or cut round cakes.  Cutting round cakes makes a mess and is a bit of a hassle.  I prefer to serve sheet cakes.  I’ll see what they can do.

I decided I want to make the mints for the wedding so need to get the ingredients to make a sample batch.  I’ve made them before but it has been a long time.  I wish I could taste them but they have powdered sugar in them which I don’t eat.  I’ll have to ask some friends to try them and see if they are OK.

By the end of next week I want all these little details firmed up and decided on.  The invitations will be mailed, a photographer will be booked, the cake booked, hopefully the dresses I ordered will be in and one of them will work, and Jim’s ring should be here.  I still need to get a pair of shoes and take care of a few other little decisions but the bulk of the plans will be in place.  My goal is to have most everything taken care of before I start doing taxes the first week of February.

I feel better about all the wedding plans tonight.  It feels good that some things are almost booked and confirmed.  Still have more things to take care of but it feels like the big things are almost done.

We didn’t get anything done on the house today though.  Both of us were a bit tired and needed a rest day to catch up from the weekend.  Jim plans to do a bit of work when he comes home from choir practice.  He was gone for an hour or more this afternoon as he had an eye doctor appointment.  Not sure we will get much done tomorrow either though as we are both busy then too.

Got a light dusting of snow overnight.  Most of it melted off today though.  It was in the mid to upper 30’s today but is to be in the low 50’s tomorrow.  Hopefully we will find some time to take a long walk sometime tomorrow.

Grateful I was in the mood to make needed phone calls today, grateful I may finally be able to figure out next week how my new car works, and grateful for to-do lists that help keep me on track and get things done.
