We rushed around this morning and got everything on my list done and were on our way to Wichita a little after 9:00. I got released from using the crutches today. I am to use them if I walk a long distance or on uneven ground. The x-ray looked good and the incision has healed nicely. I go back for my last check in two weeks when I should get released from using the boot.
She gave me orders for two more weeks of physical therapy but said I didn’t need to do all of it if I decide against it. I have an appointment with the therapist in Stillwater tomorrow at noon. I’ll see what the physical therapist here recommends in terms of how much longer I need to go.
I tend to stay off my foot more at Jim’s house than at home so it should continue to heal well the next two weeks.
After we left the doctor’s office we stopped at the New Balance shoe store and Jim got a new pair of shoes. I was going to get some but they recommended I wait until I am out of the boot so both feet can be fitted.
We went to a dive for some tacos after the shoe store and than headed for Stillwater. It was a familiar and uneventful drive here. The cats were glad to get to go outside after being cooped up inside for two weeks.
Jim has choir practice tonight so I will have a quiet evening alone. We are both a bit tired so I may take a nap while he is gone.
I called the plumber this morning to find out what is up with the booster pump. They came out shortly after I called. They finally figured out what the problem was and got it fixed. They found a problem and have ordered parts to fix what broke. My house sitter is to let me know when the parts come in so I can have the plumber back out to fix what broke. Glad this problem is almost resolved.
Before we left this morning I trimmed the hair under Sophia’s collar. Her fur is so thick it blocks the shock collar from shocking her unless I trim her hair. I cut enough off that I was able to tighten the collar one notch and could have cut a bunch more off. I am always afraid I will cut her skin so don’t get too close to her skin.
There was a fairy egg yesterday in the egg bucket Jim brought up. The hens are slowly starting to lay again after their fall break.
It will be nice to relax and not have anything I have to do for the next two weeks. Once I get out of the boot and we come back mid December I have a list of things I want to do here. I am so looking forward to being able to move easily again. Two more weeks!
Grateful for another good report from the doctor today, grateful for another safe journey to Stillwater, and grateful my booster pump issue is finally getting resolved.
