Had a productive trip to Emporia today. Got my hair cut, had a blood draw to check my thyroid levels, went to the bank, got dog and chicken feed and went to Walmart and got groceries. We were gone almost three hours.
The Plumber came out this morning to check the water softener. Evidentially it melted a gasket which was the dirty stuff that ended up in my bath tub last night. The plumber doesn’t work on water softener although he installs them. He is going to try to find someone to come fix it. It is only three years old and unfortunately no longer under warranty.
I messaged my neighbor that is on the same water district I am to see if they use a water softener. They do not. I will see if it can get fixed and if not I won’t replace it at this time and see what happens.
When we got home we put the groceries away and Jim loaded up the chicken feed into the containers I use to carry it down to the coop. We did chicken chores together and than scrapped the sidewalk and deck so when the kids come tonight they won’t slip and fall.
My foot was a bit swollen this morning and is rather tender this afternoon. I have tried to remember to stop and prop it up off and on during the day. If I remember I will put some ice on it later.
Michelle, Tim and the kiddos are coming out for dinner tonight. They wanted cream chicken and biscuits so that is what is on the menu. I have the chicken cooked and the potatoes peeled. It is an easy meal to fix.
Last night I sorted through my yarn totes. Found one tote full of prayer shawls that I am going to take to Stillwater and donate to Jim’s church. They have a prayer shawl ministry. Threw the contents of another tote away. Gathered enough yarn to make five blankets that I am going to take to Stillwater to work on this winter. Still have too much yarn but am working my way through at least part of it.
I am working on my list of things I want to take to Stillwater when we go back Friday. We will be back in KS in three weeks. My surgeon’s office called this morning and said the surgeon wants me to see the PA in three weeks. He didn’t mention that to me when I was in his office yesterday. We will probably come back on that Wednesday and than return to Stillwater the following Saturday. Hopefully that will be the last appointment I will need.
When I got up this morning and came in the dining room I noticed the sun was rising. The colors both in the east and to the west were breathtaking this morning. I enjoyed the sunset last night too. They are reminders to me why I love living here in spite of all the water issues.
Grateful to have worked my way through my errand list today, grateful the kids are coming out for dinner tonight, and grateful for my plumber that comes when I have issues.
