Hard night to find sleep. I was so tired when I went to bed but had a lot of trouble falling asleep and then staying asleep.
Took Sophia with me to walk down to City Hall to pay my water bill. We got to Main Street by the bank and I saw the big dog that bothered us Sunday. I stood between Sophia and the big dog so Sophia couldn’t see it. The big dog went on by on the other side of the street.
I forgot about the white/black/gray dog that was with the big dog Sunday. Next thing I knew that dog was coming across the street towards us. I was in the middle of the road and got a tight hold on Sophia. I yelled HELP twice. A man immediately came out of the School Board office to see what was wrong.
He came out into the street and got between Sophia and I and the growling white/black.gray dog. We were able to get to the City Hall office safely thanks to his help.
I went in to pay my water bill and asked the ladies there to call the Sheriff to see if they could pick up these two dogs that have been running loose since Sunday.
I left the office and went back over to the School Board office and the man that helped us was still outside. I expressed my deep gratitude for his help. Another guy that was standing out with him told me he had been running the other day and a dog came after him.
We were able to walk safely home without seeing any other dogs. I then had to take Roxy for her morning walk but I was able to do that safely.
I went to Emporia for exercise. I stopped and picked up more boxes at McDonald’s. I had used the ones I had on hand to put meat in yesterday and needed to get some more to stick in my storage unit. I went ahead and took all they had so I can help a friend out if they need more boxes for their move later.
I did my exercises and then came home. While I was exercising my realtor called and had yet another counteroffer on the rental house I am attempting to sell. I accepted her proposal.
Later this afternoon I got a text that the buyer has still not accepted the counteroffer as she has yet one more bid she is waiting for. The buyer asked for an extension for closing. I refused the extension. The buyer is the one that wanted to close quickly and I am tired of her “one more bid” stick. Take it or leave it, I don’t care.
We are to close Friday but still don’t know if that is going to happen. This buyer seems to want a new house for the price of a used one. Not going to get that from me. When you buy a house, you take a risk. Life doesn’t come with guarantees nor does a house. Put up or shut up is my motto.
Not sure what I will do if this deal falls apart. I may have to take the house off the market and get everything fixed and then list it again at a higher price. Sure would rather not go that route but will if I have to.
Can you tell I don’t like the process of selling a house? I set my terms and clearly communicated them yet they push the boundaries. I don’t play that game. The buyer of my country house did the same thing. What is up with that?
I took a nap this afternoon. I needed it. This mornings trauma with the dog situation wore me out. It sure would be nice to be able to walk my dogs in this town without having to be on guard for trouble with loose dogs. One of these days that situation is not going to end well.
Tomorrow I have to go back to town for exercise. I am hoping to know for sure about the closing on Friday but that may or may not happen. It will be hard for the closing company to do the final paperwork with this little of notice. We shall see how this plays out.
Feeling a bit ungrounded and out of sorts tonight. I don’t like sitting in the in-between space and having no control of the outcome. I am attempting to allow what ever feelings I have about it to be heard and then leave my body. Easier said then done sometimes.
Grateful for the man that came to my rescue today, grateful for afternoon naps, and grateful one way or another this deal will be over soon.
