The flooring guy that laid the new floor at Michelle’s house called me at 9:00 this morning to tell me he was almost done. I headed into town so I could pay him. He did the whole floor in under three hours. It sure looks nice.
I didn’t have anything else to do in town so came back home. I had trouble waking up this morning and finally decided to go back to bed and take a nap. Things felt hard this morning and sometimes it is best to put myself in time-out for the safety of myself and those around me.
Kathy invited some of our dear friends over for a birthday celebration this evening. We had a great time visiting with them. We enjoyed an ice cream birthday cake and snacks and wine. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends.
Tomorrow I am going to help a friend move. I was just there and know how hard that day will be for them. Trusting I can lighten their load a tad bit.
Friday I am going to lunch with a friend and then going to Emporia for exercise. A local group is doing a fundraiser concert Friday night that I plan on going to. I don’t think I have any plans for the weekend. Hoping I can have two stay at home days. Those seem to be hard for me to find these days.
It has been fun checking Facebook off and on today and reading all the birthday greetings. That is one of my favorite things about Facebook. It will take me a bit to respond to all the greetings but each one was much appreciated and read.
Feeling very grateful for the privilege of being on earth with the people I love and know. Each birthday feels like a celebration of surviving all of life’s challenges for one more year. I no longer take that for granted.
Grateful for all who wished me a happy birthday this year, grateful the flooring project is complete, and grateful for one more year on this earth this time around.
