Had a delightful evening talking to two of my guests last night. It is fun meeting new people and sharing our stories. Fixed some hard-boiled eggs for one of them. Not sure what they are eating or when but it is nice not to have to worry about it.
I had another deep conversation with one of them this morning. One left before 8:00 this morning but the other two slept in. One left around 10:30 and the other one didn’t leave until almost noon. Got their rooms refreshed and have a load of towels washing.
Two board members from Pioneer Bluffs are coming by in a bit so we can finish up our little project. I will be getting the supplies I need to get the Newsletter ready to mail when they come. That will give me something to do this afternoon and tomorrow.
Kathy and I may go into town tomorrow and watch my guests each play a hole or two. The sun is to return and be a beautiful day. I would like to see what Disc Golf is all about. It has been fun listening to them talk about it.
It rained most of the night but I didn’t get much in my rain gauge. Not sure if it has a leak in it or if it didn’t rain hard enough to accumulate much rain. The grass grew overnight though so by Friday or Saturday I will need to mow for the first time this year.
When the wind shifted to the west yesterday afternoon the smoke from the pasture my neighbor just burned blew in. It looked like a dust storm for a bit. Grateful for the rain that made sure the fire was out and quieted down the ash.
My neighbor usually burns the grass on my property when he burns his but this year didn’t do so. Not sure why. If I had known he wasn’t going to I would have found someone to do it. Too late to find someone now. I’ll need to call a rancher and find out if I need to mow the tall grass or if it will be OK to bale without it being cut. I’ll have to find someone to cut and bale it for me this year as my neighbor used to arrange that for me and then he took the hay the cutter didn’t take. Anyone know someone? They can have all the hay they bale. I have no use for it.
Still on my weight plateau. Feeling OK with it and trusting the program. My pants feel looser so I know something is happening even though the scale isn’t moving.
Rainy, cloudy fireplace on type of day. I will welcome the sunshine back tomorrow. May need to ride my bike instead of taking a walk today to get my steps in.
I got a real sense of being in the right place at the right time when I was talking to my guest this morning. We were talking about energy and my Philosophy of life. It was affirming that doing the Airbnb was the right choice for me right now. Not sure how long I will want to do this but so far, so good.
Grateful for the gentle, soaking rain we have received, grateful for the opportunity to share my life stories with my guests, and grateful for a service project to do this afternoon and tomorrow.
