And my medical saga continues….I took the trash down to the end of my driveway in my car yesterday as I had extra boxes of trash to take down.  When I got my car unloaded I decided I was halfway to town and might as well run into town and pick up the prescription (Don’t you love my logic?).

I presented the $10 co-pay card to the young girl at Walgreen’s.  She ran it and told me without the card my out-of-pocket cost for the prescription was over $400 and with the card it was $525.  Yikes!  I told her thanks but no thanks.

Came home and called the $10 co-pay card company.  They told me they had received an error message as the girl had not entered the card correctly.  They had me call Walgreen’s back and tell them to run the insurance card and then the co-pay card.  They also told me I had qualified for only paying $10 out-of-pocket for it.  I called Walgreen’s and the girl told me that is how she had run the cards and there was nothing else she could do.

I sent a note to my Doctor’s office and asked for a different type of medication.  I am not paying over $400 for a medication when there are cheaper alternatives.  May have to take the one that requires lots of blood tests.  I will be gone for 16 days during the time they will be checking me closely but oh well.  It is what it is!

I haven’t had an episode since I have had the heart monitor on.  I hand scrubbed a bedroom and bathroom floor this morning and detail cleaned both rooms.  Wanted to try to trigger an episode but no luck.  Figures that when I want to have an episode I don’t have one!

I have my Echocardiogram this afternoon at 3:00.  They will check my monitor and if I still haven’t had an “event” as they call them, I will have to wear it another 24 hours. I haven’t gone 48 hours without an event since the first one yet so hopefully if I am going to continue to have them they can get one recorded.

The good news is with this latest medical episode I will meet my out-of-pocket deductible and will have no more medical expenses I have to pay until I switch to Medicare in August.  Not sure if I have to meet another deductible with that change this year or not.

Guests are coming Saturday so have another two days to finish getting the house clean and ready.  All three bedrooms and two of the bathrooms are done and will just need dusted Saturday morning.  I’ll get one or two rooms done upstairs today and do some more rooms Thursday and Friday.  Kathy said she would work on the basement great room and coffee-room.  Starting Saturday we will have guests in the house for over a week straight.  Four coming Saturday and leaving Sunday, another one comes in Sunday, another on Monday and another on Tuesday.  The last one leaves a week from Sunday.  They will be out and about during the days so probably won’t even know they are here.

The wind has returned to the prairie today.  It is to slow down by evening.  Only to reach the mid 50’s today.  The forecast still shows rain for Saturday and Sunday.  Trusting that will happen.

A friend came over and got some yarn yesterday.  She sent me a note this morning that one of the artist at Prairie Past Times will take the rest of it.  Yeah!  I will take it Sunday as that artist is to be working Sunday.  Good to get that out of the house.  My storage room downstairs is looking less cluttered already and I still have a few more totes to go through to see if I can get rid of more stuff.

One more week of taking extra trash down to the curb and the trash pile in the barn will be gone.  Still need to sweep the floor in the barn but it is almost clean.  Have lots of extra garden hose I need to figure out what to do with.  Some of it needs thrown away and some of it can be spliced and still used.  If I can get a nice warm day without much wind I will tackle that project.

I need to get my garage cleaned out too.  Doesn’t do much good to sweep it out with this wind though as I leave a door to it open all the time and stuff seems to blow in.

Feeling a bit frustrated with this latest medical setback.  I am working so hard to clean up my eating and improve my health.  Guess I will keep my head down and stick to my eating plan and ride this latest episode out and see where it goes.  I continue to lose weight and can feel my body continue to heal and change.  I can only control what goes in my mouth.  My body will do what it needs to do!

Grateful for medical options, grateful for guests coming, and grateful for clutter leaving my space and allowing for empty space to enter.
