I feel like I have gotten more done today then I have in a long time. I woke up and had the motivation to do things for the first time in a long time.

Miracles of all miracles happened as the insurance adjuster was in this morning and I got my questions answered. He has been out sick with Covid the last two weeks. He still sounded sick but he said he was feeling better, although not back to normal yet.

He approved the window and EFIS bids. I then called the window guy and he was able to come this afternoon so I could sign a contract and give him the down payment for new windows. They take 5 – 8 weeks to make so was very happy to get those ordered before I leave Thursday. Someone from the window company will come later this week and do a second confirmation measuring of the windows and then they will place the order.

I signed the EFIS bid and mailed it to that company. The window guy mentioned some EFIS repair that needs to be done on all the windows on the main floor so I sent the EFIS guy an email making sure he was aware of that. The EFIS guy may need to modify his bid.

I got some other little bills mailed to the insurance adjuster. I also gave him my direct deposit information so he can send money directly to my account since I won’t be home to deposit checks. I had to take money out of savings for the windows and trust that the insurance adjuster will get me the deposit money soon.

I called the roofer and he is going to send me his bill minus the guttering charges. When that comes in, Kathy is going to mail it to the insurance adjuster and then that money can be put in my account so I can get that bill paid.

I did three loads of laundry, cleaned out the refrigerator and did some cleaning. It has been a productive day on the prairie.

I reserved an Uber for Thursday. Nicole has a phone meeting and can’t take me to the airport Thursday morning but I am leaving my car at her house and will have an Uber take me and drop me off. Nicole will pick me up when I return the evening of the 26th.

I have all the laundry done so can start pulling things out to pack. It won’t take long as I am only taking three outfits. I will wash things out every night or send my laundry out on the nights when I spend two nights in the same hotel.

Tomorrow I have a haircut at 10:30 and then will pick up a grocery order afterwards. I will spend tomorrow afternoon cleaning and driving myself crazy thinking of things I might have forgotten to pack.

I will leave the house by 6:30 Thursday morning so I can be at Nicole’s before 8:30 when the Uber driver is to come. My flight leaves at 10:45 so am hoping that leaves me plenty of time to get through security and to my gate. I have a four-hour layover in Minneapolis before my flight to London leaves. That will give me plenty of time to have lunch and mentally prepare myself for the eight-hour flight.

It felt good to have a productive day. It has been a long time since that happened. I was efficient and organized this morning and got lots done. Wish I could be like that most days. Grateful I was able to take advantage of it today.

So very grateful I was able to move the hail damage project along today and I feel much better about leaving now. The 5 – 8 week wait for the windows will go fast as I will be gone for 3 of them. The EFIS guy can’t get here until November so the timing will work well for all of us.

Still not very excited for the trip but know that will happen soon. I still need to type up instructions for Kathy and Michelle, finish packing and get the rest of the house cleaned and then I will be ready to go. It sure feels like it has been a lot of work to get ready to go.

I am a bit concerned about Covid and the impact it might impose on the trip. I keep hearing of more and more people having it for the second or third time. Crossing my fingers that I will not get it again and that my travel schedule won’t be impacted due to others getting it.

Grateful the hail damage project had major movement today, grateful for a productive day and grateful it is almost time to leave on vacation.
