I completed my physical therapy this afternoon. I currently have my foot on ice trying to calm it down from being stretch out. I was able to stand on only my sore foot for two minutes with full weight. It doesn’t hurt when I do so although it does feel stiff. Progress is being made! The therapist is rather sure I will be able to ditch the crutches after my appointment tomorrow. That will make me very happy!
We found out today the Celebration of Life Service for Jim’s niece will be September 14. We will go to my doctor’s appointment in Wichita tomorrow morning and then go to Strong City. Jim will stay until Saturday when he will then return to Stillwater. I will drive to Stillwater Sunday afternoon and we will leave for Asheville on Monday and arrive on Tuesday. We will leave Asheville Sunday, Sept 15 in the afternoon and be back in Stillwater on the 16th. I have another doctor’s appointment in Wichita on the 17th so I will go to that and then head back to Strong City alone. Jim starts teaching his Osher Classes Sept 19.
Thankfully my housesitter can come back the 8th and stay until I get back home on the 17th. I will be able to attend all my appointments and not have to reschedule anything. Everything worked out perfectly for my schedule.
Not sure what I will do if the doctor wants me to have additional physical therapy. I won’t be able to work it in until after the 17th. I will continue to do the exercises I have been taught and hope for the best.
It will be good to get home and get through the stuff that has piled up since I have been gone for two weeks. I’m sure the yard will need mowed and I will have lots of mail to sort and bills to pay. I will also need to restock all the critter’s feed supply so I can be gone for ten days again. I’m glad I don’t have guests coming so won’t have to clean house for them.
It is very warm in Stillwater today. I haven’t taken a walk yet today and may not do so if it doesn’t cool down before dark. I am not a big fan of heat.
Grateful for the physical therapy I received and the progress it has helped me make, grateful the schedule is coming together and I can keep my appointments, and grateful to be returning home tomorrow. I have missed the prairie!
