I got a very good report from my surgeon today.  He said I healed much faster than most people do.  No more crutches or compression tape.  I can start weaning myself off the boot with the goal of being boot free in two weeks.  My big toe is still too stiff so he wants me to do physical therapy twice a week for four weeks.  I scheduled the right foot to be fixed on November 6.

It was good to get home this afternoon.  I stopped for lunch and came straight home afterwards.  I had planned to go to Costco’s and Lowe’s but didn’t have it in me to stop and shop.  Neither stop was urgent so will visit them when I to to KC in the next week or so.  I need to schedule an eye exam and my eye doctor is in KC.  Once I get all my physical therapy sessions scheduled I will know when I can slip away and get up to KC for the day.

I sorted mail, unpacked my suitcase, made a few phone calls and then went out and mowed for two hours.  I didn’t get the whole yard mowed as I ran out of daylight.  I will finish the mowing tomorrow after I do the chicken coop clean out.  I also need to do some more deck painting in the morning before it gets too hot.

I am tired tonight.  It will be good to sleep in my own bed.  Trusting I will get a good night’s sleep.  Bet I am in bed by 9:00 tonight.  Don’t have it in me to stay up late tonight.

I start physical therapy Thursday morning.  I need some groceries so may have to run to town tomorrow and than go back in on Thursday.

I have a long list of things that I need to get done over the next couple of weeks.  I plan on going back to OK Friday afternoon and will be back on the prairie Monday sometime.  After this trip I will be staying home for several weeks in a row so will hopefully get some things crossed off my long to do list.  I hope to get one room a day deep cleaned.  It will take me a bit to get the whole house done.  It always feels good to have it done though.

Jim starts teaching one of his Osher classes Thursday.  The other site starts in two weeks.  That ties him up for eight weeks so I will be going to OK on the weekends so he can stay home and prepare for his classes and continue to work on his house.  He is coming up here some weekends though.  He also plans to come stay for two weeks when I have surgery in November like he did last time.  I scheduled surgery so his classes will be done.  My house works easier with the foot scooter for the two weeks that I have to be non-weight bearing.  After those two weeks I will go to OK for two weeks to continue my recovery.  The holidays might change our schedule a bit – I’ll have to see how everything plays out.

Hard for me to believe that it is the middle of September already.  Christmas will be here before I know it.  This year has flown by.  Jim and I have been dating for eleven months.  Doesn’t seem like it has been that long.

Grateful to be home again, grateful for a good report from the surgeon, and grateful I got some things done this afternoon.
