Had a much quieter day at home today. It was nice to stay home all day and slow things down a bit. The next five days are going to be busy and I needed to get myself mentally ready for the company that is coming.
I made a double batch of New Year’s Cookies today. It always feels good to get that job done. I had never tried making a double batch before. It maxed out the limit of my mixing bowl but it worked. They look light and good so hoping that is how they taste.
I took a nap when I was done. I didn’t sleep very well again last night. Both feet were cranky – thinking it is the weather change that is happening that caused them to complain all night long.
It never did warm up as much as it was supposed to today. The sun kinda came out this afternoon but there is a fog cover. It sure feels and smells like snow outside tonight. The wind is to change to the N NW soon and blow hard all night long. Trusting the power won’t go out.
I have one more batch of fudge to make and all my holiday baking will be done. I need a sunny day to make fudge so may not get it done. I have one batch made so we may need to make do with that.
Tomorrow I have five guests coming for the night. It will be fun to have them here. I am fixing spaghetti for dinner for them. After dinner Tim is going to help me make pumpkin pies and eclairs for dessert for Thanksgiving dinner Thursday.
I still have room at my table for several more people. If you don’t have a place to go for Thanksgiving Dinner please come. We are eating at 1:00 and there is no need to bring anything. Come join us!
Jim got some more sanding done this afternoon but it didn’t warm up enough to paint. Still hoping early next week will be warm enough we can get the steps painted before we leave Wednesday.
I may have a Newsletter for Pioneer Bluffs to work on Monday and Tuesday next week. It went to the printer today so not sure when they might get it done. I will need help with it as I have to leave Wednesday morning and won’t be able to work on it after that. Anyone want to come out and stuff Newsletters the first of the week?
Tonight I need to do a bit of housecleaning. Good thing the guests coming are family and close friends that won’t mind if I don’t get the whole house cleaned.
Anyone like to do Black Friday shopping? Walmart has a 40 inch TV for sale for $98 that I would love to have. I can’t handle crowds though so need a surrogate shopper. Any takers?
Grateful for a nap today, grateful the New Year’s Cookies are made, and grateful for a warm house tonight.
