What a day. I am tired and cranky tonight. I listed the boat that is in the back yard at the new investment property on several sites trying to find someone to take it away for me. No charge – just haul it off. I have had to answer all sorts of questions today. How much does it weigh? Will it fit in a pickup? Can you deliver? How long is it? Where is the trailer that goes with it? People it is free – take it or leave it – just make a decision and deal.

I finally had someone come to look at it. He had a boat trailer with him – but he came alone and couldn’t figure out how to get it on the trailer. Yikes! What happened to common sense? He was going to go find some help or else he is coming back this weekend with some friends. He drove 30 miles to come to my house. As long as the boat is gone soon I will be happy. I am done with it!

Went to the house and did a bit of painting this afternoon. I think the colors will work but I need to let what I put up dry before I decide for sure. Patched some nail holes in the living room and dining room. I didn’t get much done but it is a start.

I took seven calls on the hot line last night and got promoted to Level 7. Level 8 will come after I handle 500 more calls. I have handled 500 calls since I started last May. I got on the hot line this afternoon for a short bit as they were busy. I handled two calls and they were caught up so I got off. Anytime there is a major story about suicide the story adds a link to the hot line and we get slammed. Meghan and Harry mentioned suicide and the story about their interview posted on-line had a link to the hot line. I’m too tired tonight to look to see how busy they are.

I have an issue with TCT Wireless. We have trouble using our wireless printer and several times during the day our internet goes down. I have called them four times over the last month. They finally sent me a new power cord and charged me $10 for it which didn’t fix anything. Today they told me our router is going bad and it will cost me $200 for a new one as the warranty on the old one is up. If I sign a two-year contract they will provide the router for free.

I looked at the contract I signed with them when I joined their service and there is no mention of a one year warranty or the fact that if the router goes out I have to pay for a new one. Their service is worthless if you don’t have a router. And what happens if the new router fails one year and one month after I sign the new contract?

I checked the terms and agreement on their website and it doesn’t mention a one-year warranty or the fact that if the equipment fails I have to pay.

I hesitate to sign a new contract as there is a new internet company coming my way sometime this year and I want to switch to them as their speed is much higher. TCT charges $240 to break their contract.

They have me over a barrel though as we need internet service and I have very limited options until the other company gets here. I’m going to write them a letter and see what we can compromise on. The other three times I have called in no one mentioned the cost of a new router. Yikes. What to do?

I slept hard for about three hours last night and then couldn’t get back to sleep. Since I was at the house in town this afternoon I didn’t take a nap today. Thinking it will be a very early night for me.

I am running a low grade temperature tonight. My throat is sore and my ears are plugged and ringing. I have felt like I was coming down with something ever since I got my second vaccine ten days ago. You would think that if what I am experiencing is a side effect of the vaccine it would be done by now. Maybe I have an ear infection or something. I can’t take oral antibiotics so don’t think I will go to the doctor unless I get worse.

Other than a hot line shift tomorrow night I have nothing on my calendar for tomorrow. I hope to get to town and get some painting done. We only have one car right now as Jim’s car is still being fixed so am having to figure out what Jim needs to get done. I do my best painting in the mornings so will probably go in tomorrow morning while he is still sleeping.

Jim went to Emporia this afternoon and picked up some groceries and ran some errands. I think if I had gone to town today it would have pushed me over the cliff. The wind today wore me out and it is still blowing tonight.

I fixed a pot roast this morning in the crock pot so when I got home from town dinner was ready. That was a good thing tonight as I was tired and didn’t have the energy to cook. The roast was delicious and a very easy dinner to serve.

We have a chance for some rain tomorrow night and into Thursday and maybe even more over the weekend. We are in drought like conditions so any rain we get would be very welcomed. There have been lots of grass fires around. It is a dangerous time of the year for fires.

Grateful the boat may be going away, grateful a bit of paint is up on the cabinets and walls, and grateful it is almost bed time.
