A day full of delays. Got notice this morning that our 3:47 flight out of Manhattan was going to be delayed until 4:45. I got to Hazel’s house around noon. We called American and they rebooked us for a 8:35 flight.
We went to lunch and then took a short nap before going to the airport.
Our first flight didn’t take off until 5:40. We grabbed a quick salad at the Chicago airport and waited to board our 8:35 flight. It didn’t depart until 9:45.
We will spend the night in the Boston airport as we will miss the last bus of the day going to Portland. We will catch the 7:30 am bus to Bangor instead and arrive in Portland around noon.
We were going to book a hotel room in Boston but they charge $550 to $1,259 a night. Can’t see paying that much. Wonder what makes them so luxurious that they can charge that much.
I must have needed another lesson on patience. So far I have rolled with the delays and allowed it to be what it is.
It will feel good to get to our final destination tomorrow afternoon. Funny that it took me less time to get to Spain then it will to get to Camp in Maine.
Grateful for safe flights, grateful for the laughter that happened today, and grateful to be on this adventure.
