It is a cold, rainy day in Stillwater. It has rained all day long. Heard it is snowing on the prairie. It may change to snow here overnight but it is to warm up to 44 tomorrow so the snow won’t last long.
Went to a flower shop this morning and ordered flowers for the wedding. I wasn’t going to get any but Jim’s sister sent an idea that made so much sense I decided to go for it. Thanks Jane!
I mailed the first set of wedding and reception invitations. Jim still needs to address the ones he wants to send out. I addressed a few more of each this afternoon and will mail them tomorrow.
I decided to order some more cake. I had to order some more invitations as Jim’s list keeps growing. I’m not sure how many can come but I don’t want to run out of cake. Decided to make it easy on myself and just order another cake and not have that worry on my mind the day of the wedding.
My right foot is swollen up big again today. Not sure why it does that. I have stayed off of it most of the day. I want to bitch slap the damn thing and tell it to snap out of it. I’m so tired of its whiny ways!
I took a nap this afternoon. I slept for three hours last night and then was up for three. Might have gotten another hour or so sleep after that. It is cold and wet outside and I didn’t have anything to do so a nap felt like a good use of my time. We are going to a piano recital tonight and will be out later than normal. Maybe this way I won’t fall asleep during the recital.
Both of the dresses that came in fit – one is a bit tight and the other a bit big. Not sure either one is THE dress but either one would work. Still have four others coming so am reasonably certain one of the six will work. Now I need to get a pair of shoes and I will be set. This will be the first pair of shoes I will buy since my surgeries. I am to continue to wear my New Balance tennis shoes for six more months. A girl has to break the rules though on her wedding day!
I made a crock pot of hamburger soup this morning. The smell is so divine. Jim is out in his shop working on the cabinet for the microwave and will be in soon so we can eat. It was a good day to make a hot soup for dinner.
I don’t have anything on my calendar for tomorrow. Thursday we are going to Subaru school in Oklahoma City and then to Costco. Nothing special planned for the weekend. Monday I start doing taxes. It will be a relief to get the first day under my belt and understand their system.
January flew by! I can’t believe it will be February Saturday. Glad I have the wedding plans under control and most everything figured out. Once I start doing taxes three days a week time will fly by even faster. It will be March before I know it.
Grateful for the idea for flowers from Jane, grateful for the rain and rainy day naps, and grateful for hot soup.
