Finally got the Newsletter material around 2:00. Jim and I stuffed envelopes from 2:15 until 7:00. Lynn and Kay came to help. We got them all stuffed but not all of them are sealed shut. Lynn will pick them all up in the morning and finish them for me.
We got slowed down a bit as some of the letters were out of order. They also had reverse collated the envelopes but not the letters. Made it a bit more challenging and take a bit longer than it should have to match letters with the right envelope. My back is sore tonight from holding the same position for too long this afternoon. I really wanted to get them all stuffed so I didn’t take breaks. Big mistake! My hot bath will feel really good tonight.
Have been working on crossing things off my to do list to get ready to leave tomorrow. We are coming back to KS for my next doctor’s appointment December 17 so I don’t have to take as much as I first thought I would have to this time. That makes packing this time easier.
I baked a batch of cookies this morning. Jim is a bit of a Cookie Monster and his supply was getting low. It is easier for me to bake at my house than his so decided to get them made. My ovens are starting to bake very unevenly and inconsistently. May need to replace them sometime next year.
Anticipating I will get released from needing to use crutches tomorrow. I have already been off them illegally for almost a week. I will still have to be in the boot for at least two more weeks. The end is in sight!
This surgery was easier than the first one but the accumulative effect of the two is starting to wear me out. It seems like a long time since I was able to move around easily and walk for as long as I wanted to without pain. So looking forward to spring when both feet are completely healed and I am good to go.
It was a beautiful day on the prairie today. I’m sorry I was stuck inside this afternoon stuffing envelopes and I didn’t get out to enjoy the day. Jim didn’t get the sanding on the steps done as he helped me with the newsletter instead. Hopefully when we come back the 17th for two or three days we can get the steps done then. We won’t get the rest of the painting done until spring.
Haven’t heard from my plumber about the booster pump. I hate to leave with it not fixed. I sent him a text and asked for an update but didn’t get a response. I will try to remember to call him in the morning and see if I can find out what they are doing.
Grateful the Newsletter is all stuffed, grateful for help with the Newsletter today, and grateful for ibuprofen for my sore back tonight.
