Woke up to light rain again today. It was in the 50’s when we got up. We decided to drive to Boulder to go to the Rocky Mountain High Store and to REI. It is a pretty drive down the mountains from Estes Park to Lyons. I especially enjoy the short grass prairie between Lyons and Boulder. The temperature in Boulder was in the mid 80’s.

Jim has almost come to like the GPS on my phone. He still prefers paper maps but has learned to listen to the GPS directions. It got us to both stores without issue today.

I got two new shirts at REI. I still struggle to understand how a size XS fits. I tried them on and they fit perfectly. I needed some long sleeve t-shirts so got two.

We saw another group of bull elks on the way to Lyons as well as a momma and baby herd. We have certainly seen more wildlife this year already than we saw last year.

We drove back to Estes Park after a quick stop at a third shop in Lyons. We drove through some light rain on the way home and it was sprinkling when we got to our cabin in Estes Park. I was glad I had on a sweatshirt and jeans.

Not sure what I am going to fix for dinner. Jim has his choice between scalloped potatoes with ham and scrambled eggs and bacon with toast. We will see what he decides to eat.

I got on the Rocky Mountain National Park Website and got us a pass to enter the park between 9 and 11 tomorrow. The internet in camp is poor but it came through for me finally. I had tried searching using Google and couldn’t get anywhere. I switched to Safari and got to the website in time to get the pass. So frustrating! I wish the camp would improve their internet service.

We are going hiking on the tundra tomorrow if the weather cooperates. If not we will drive up Trail Ridge Road anyways and see what happens. It is one of my favorite roads ever, especially when we take Fall River Road up to the ridge. It takes a while to drive as it is a rough road but the scenery is so worth it.

I am going on my third day in a row of my tummy behaving. I am so grateful for that. It finally feels like this last episode is over. I still have several antibiotics left so we will see what happens when I finish those. Crossing my fingers the yogurt is helping and I won’t have a relapse.

I have read two books so far and am halfway through a third one. I only brought five books with me so may have to switch to knitting for something to do while we are in the cabin.

I will need to do laundry either tomorrow or the next day. I need to go to housekeeping tomorrow and get some cleaning supplies so I can clean the bathroom. It wasn’t exactly spotless when we got here and I would feel better if I can get it a bit cleaner. We need to get fresh linens too. They make it easy to do that.

Hoping the weather clears up a bit for tomorrow. This cool weather has been a delightful change from the heat we left in KS but I am ready for some sunshine.

Grateful for a safe trip to Boulder and back today, grateful I was able to get a pass to the park for tomorrow morning, and grateful for all the wildlife we are seeing this year.
