Kathy and I did a drive last night to catch the super moon rising. We went to the Prairie Preserve but didn’t have a good enough east view. We then went to V Rd and 210. There was a haze on the horizon so didn’t get to see lift off but got to see it shortly afterwards. I climbed up through the sun roof to watch it.

It was a beautiful evening to go outside and watch the moon rising. The only thing I miss about the country house is the views.

Roxy had a rough night last night and had trouble settling down. She wanted to go outside about five different times. She didn’t do anything when she went out. I finally took her out to her pen around 11:00. Then Sophia wanted to go out with Roxy. They were quiet for a long time but around midnight started barking so I had to bring them back in.

I left for KC a little after 9:00 this morning. Traffic was light and I made good time. I stopped at Costco to get a new vacuum. The dog hair is driving me crazy. As usual, I found other things I didn’t know I needed.

Met two dear friends for lunch. It had been a long time since we had met together. It was good to catch up with each other and visit. Did my soul good.

I went to my attorney’s office at 1:30. I signed two papers and was out of there by 1:35. Headed home. I stopped for gas in Gardner and then stopped at Tagen’s house to check his room. Came home after that.

Kathy helped me get the new vacuum put together. They use pictures as directions and it took a bit to figure it out. We tried it and was disappointed with it. Then Kathy took it in her room to see what it would do on that carpet. When she tried it again on the red rug it worked perfectly. Not sure why or what happened to make it start working right but am grateful it did.

It has a lot of plastic parts so am not sure how long it will last. It is a Dyson and was one of the better rated vacuums for pet hair. We shall see how this works.

I turn 71 tomorrow. I always think of Mom on my birthday and wonder what her labor was like when I was born. One of the many questions I wished I had asked her! Kathy invited some friends over tomorrow evening to help me celebrate. I am looking forward to that.

I drove the new car to KC today. I have a list of things I need to ask the lady that will explain how the car works to me sometime soon. I need to make an appointment with her and go back to Wichita to figure a few things out. The lady has sent me about five texts trying to get me to come see her. I hadn’t driven the car enough to have any questions for her until today. I’ll try to get that taken care of one day next week.

Kathy and I took the dogs on their walk this evening. I started out with Roxy and went west. Roxy spotted Kathy getting Sophia and heading north and Roxy had to turn around and walk the same direction as Kathy and Sophia. Roxy is giving me a run for my money these days.

I may go help some friends tomorrow but am not sure yet. If not, I will have a quiet day at home. The flooring is being laid in Tagen’s room tomorrow so may have to go to town to pay him. Not sure how he bills.

It felt good to get the deed transfer crossed off my pending list. The flooring in Tagen’s room will get crossed off tomorrow if things go as planned. Kathy got some grass seed planted today so that little project is started. Most everything else on my pending list is waiting for someone else to do something to make it happen.

I was reminded again today how important it is to my soul to regularly schedule time with dear friends and family. I have been self isolating too much lately and need to rejoin the world.

Grateful for time with dear friends today, grateful for a safe trip to and from KC, and grateful the deed transfer is taken care of.
