Two trips to town today. Ellexia had a hair appointment and it lasted two hours so took her to town and came home and then went back to get her. I had to go to town today to deposit a rent check but hadn’t planned to make two trips.
Ellexia is spending the afternoon at her friend’s house and Tagen is at the gym working out so it is just Kathy and I here this afternoon. Good day to have a quiet day at home.
I came home from town the second time cranky and needed some quiet space to refill. I have some things I would like to do outside but it is too hot to get at them. I did get the mowing done yesterday. I didn’t mow the whole yard but got the worst of it. Most of the yard is burned up and there are only some scattered tall weeds here and there in the outer yard. Not worth the fuel to mow them down.
Kathy went to our brother’s house yesterday and came home with garden goodies. She cut up one of the cantaloupe Keith sent home with her and it was delicious. Love straight from the garden goodies. We are having bacon and tomato sandwiches tonight. The silly kiddos don’t like those so they are having ham and cheese sandwiches.
Other than doing some laundry I haven’t gotten much done today. I’m feeling a bit drained and cranky so decided not to push my luck today and try to get something done.
Gathered up the trash to take to the curb this evening. Five people sure generate lots more trash than two people do. The kiddos are not very good at putting things in recycling so lots of stuff that shouldn’t go in the trash end up there.
I am getting the oil changed on my car Thursday and will take a load to recycling when I go to Cottonwood Falls. Seems like I just dumped the recycling but we have a bunch of it again.
Next week we are to get a bit of relief from these 100 plus degree days. Maybe I can get outside and get some things done then. It is dangerously hot outside again today.
My left shoulder hurt so bad this morning I had tears in my eyes. I took some Ibuprofen and a couple hours later some Tylenol and it finally quit hurting so bad. Not sure what I did to it but man it hurt. Thinking I have a pinched nerve. That shoulder has a tendency to give me problems so I think I have a touch of arthritis in it. I usually can tolerate the pain but not today. It might be from carrying my carry-on bag from the trip last week. It doesn’t have wheels on it and I put the strap over my shoulder.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed and out of sorts today. Not entirely sure why. I am still adjusting to having extras in the house and that is part of it. Maybe the trip last week finally caught up to me too. I will put myself in time-out this afternoon and see if I can turn this around.
Grateful for the cantaloupe provided by my brother, grateful for a quiet afternoon at home, and grateful I got some relief from the shoulder pain.
