This morning the four of us took an almost one mile walk around a beautiful pond in a park. There were lots of ducks, geese and turtles on the pond. It had been a foggy morning and the sun burned through the fog on our walk and was beautiful.
We then drove up to Black Mountain and had lunch at a new restaurant that had opened in the last year. All of us were pleased with our lunches.
This afternoon we all took a nap. We had some brief showers and it was good napping weather.
One of Jim’s other brothers had us over for a delicious dinner tonight. It was nice to spend time with his brother and his family.
Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow. We may go for a drive up the Smokey Mountain Parkway. The memorial service is Saturday so some last minute preparations may need to be done that we can help with.
We only have two more days here before we start the journey home. I heard the prairie received some rain today and got a notice that the power was out at least for a bit today. I don’t look forward to the 1,000 mile drive home but will be glad to get home next Tuesday.
Grateful for being able to walk well enough to take a mile hike, grateful for the beauty of the mountains, and grateful for Jim’s family and the love they show me.
