40 years ago today Craig and I were married.  I remember when we celebrated my parents 40th wedding anniversary and I thought they were so old!  Guess I am old now!  I wish Craig and his bride Nancy many years of happiness and joy!

Jim and I went to KC this morning.  He needed to sign some papers with our attorney.  Afterwards we ate lunch and than went to Costco.  Found way too much good stuff at Costco as usual.  Headed for home after the Costco adventure.  Stopped at a pharmacy in Emporia to pick up a prescription and than went to Bluestem for my monthly feed haul.  Came home and unloaded the car.

There was a gap in the south shop door and the floor.  We got some pipe insulation at Bluestem and wrapped it around the bottom of the door and fixed the gap.  That was easy.

Took a 2 1/2 mile walk this afternoon.  It turned out to be a beautiful day after a snowy start.  Warmed up to the mid 40’s.  The fall colors of grass are spectacular right now and the walk was just what my body and soul needed.

I fixed a rice and chicken casserole for dinner that was really good.  Did dishes and am sitting in my chair resting.  Going to KC always wears me out.

Tomorrow I want to paint my laundry room.  I picked up a gallon of paint while I was at Bluestem today.

The solar panels are up and working.  The electric company came out yesterday and switched out the meter.  I checked the new meter this afternoon and we were making more electricity than we were using.  Hooray!  I’m having trouble downloading the link that shows me what my system is doing.  I’ll get that sorted out tomorrow.

I have two guests coming in for two nights tomorrow.  They haven’t let me know what time they are arriving so will have to hang close to home all afternoon.  I will go down in the morning and make sure their room is ready.  I always do a last minute dusting job and clean the bathroom again before someone checks in.

Saturday Jim will return to Stillwater in the afternoon.  I need to finish up some more last minute errands that I want to get done before surgery next Wednesday.  I need to get some groceries and make some food up so I won’t have to cook for the first couple of days after surgery.  Sunday I will need to clean the bedroom and bathroom when the guests leave.  I also need to clean the upstairs again so it will be nice and clean before it gets hard for me to clean.

It has been nice to cross things off my pending list.  Still have several things pending but feels a bit more manageable now.  I need to make some follow up phone calls tomorrow and see if I can get two repairmen out here to finish up two projects.  Both do good work but getting them to come out takes patience and persistence.

Life is so much easier and more fun when Jim is here to share it with me.  He motivates me to get out and walk and get things done around the house.  We work well together and have fun in the process.  I’m glad he will be back next Tuesday and  will be with be for the next six to eight weeks straight.

Grateful for a safe trip to and from KC today, grateful for working solar panels, and grateful for a beautiful walk this afternoon.
