A year ago today I received my first letter from Jim. In that first letter I could tell he understood the Flint Hills and loved them as much as I do. This year has gone by very quickly. I’m grateful he found me on Match.

We drove over to Tulsa this morning so Jim could teach two Osher classes. One was on the history of American Religion and the other was on the impact of Technology advances on society. I enjoyed both of them and learned new things.

Both classes were very interesting to me. I guess Jim has been sharing about me in class. One lady asked me how my foot was healing. One lady was very talkative to me. Her late husband had been a college professor and we were exchanging observations of college professors. It was amazing how alike the two men are.

I put a beef stew in the crock pot before we left this morning. I had never used this crock pot before and I didn’t adjust the temperature correctly so it isn’t done yet. Thank heavens for the instant pot. I poured the stew into the instant pot and turned it on. Jim has a meeting at 5:30 and by the time he is home from his meeting the stew will be done. I only had an apple for lunch today and I am hungry.

Since we were gone all day we didn’t get any work done outside today. Jim stayed up very late last night finishing up his notes for class so he didn’t get much sleep. Thinking we will not do much this evening after dinner.

My old internet company sent me my final bill. They added a $5 late charge as I stopped the service in early September and didn’t pay anything in September at their instructions. They delayed picking up the equipment until this week and I just today got the final bill. So glad I have changed companies. I don’t like how they handled the final steps.

Tomorrow is to be another beautiful fall day so will get back outside and do some more painting and work outside. There is lots of scrapping and painting that needs done. It is OSU’s homecoming this weekend and traffic is to be heavy so will probably hang around here all weekend. Monday is Jim’s birthday and we are going out to dinner Sunday night to celebrate as I have to go back to Strong City Monday afternoon.

Grateful for a fun trip to Tulsa today, grateful Jim has an instant pot that saved the beef stew, and grateful for this beautiful fall weather.
